Sujet : Dak and Jaxter

Yes you heard it, Dak and Jaxter are making a return emoji. Anyway, I recently played a game called Dust: An Elysian Tail, a game made by just on person. I repeat ONE PERSON. So I tought: "If this guy can do it, why wouldn't I be able to do it?" I spent an entire week thinking of a theme to the game, and then it hited me. A reboot of the Jak series. I know, I know I have the title as Dak and Jaxter but that's for the reason if Microsoft gets interested in the game and asks me to sell it on Xbox Live (<— preety hopeless tought by the way), If ND sells me the rights of J&D (<— another one) I'll change the title. But for now our protagonist friend is named Dak and his friend Jaxter. All the sprites and animations will be done in Macromedia Flash, using the Sonic Worlds engine (Haven't found anything better and I'm too lazy to create my own engine). I still need a composer so if anyone is interested, just make a calming song that would fit Sandover Village (In this case Overthesea Village) and I'll give you my toughts. A demo will be released soon. Also the game is being created on Multimedia Fusion 2.
Dack Running: By Me (It's my first flash so take it easy).

I recently found a program called Atmosphir. If it is any good I might scrap the Multimedia fusion Part and try doing it in Atmosphir.

If ND sells me the rights of J&D (<— another one)

ND does not own the rights. Sony does.

Ok, so the hopeless feelling turned even more hopeless.

Dak & Jaxter?
Why not Jak & Daxter?
Aren't you lying or joking?
It's just a question for sure!!!!

Umm, guess it's because someone owns Jak and Daxter. Making a game using those names would be illegal/copyright infringement.
However, making a spoof with similar names is perfectly acceptable.

Could i give you a hint?
Use a 3d engine insted!
Use this:
3D Rad, ALMOST no programming neccesary, Drag, drop and add!
Google Sketchup for creating the charcters, buildings etc.
And the google sketchup 3d rad plugn for easy 3d rad model exportation!

Hope i helped! And if you need any help… Ask me, i'm a professional game maker, and has made several rpg's several 3d games (FPS and Third Person) And action rpgs and much more!

Ok, I'll check it out.

I've always wanted to make a game! The thought of a 3D game sounds awesome!

So far the transition from Scratch to GameMaker has been MADNESS! (I am not making anything decent anytime soon)

Ever since R&C3's IG museum, I have never played a game without thinking "OH HO HO! If I made this!!"

If anyone here is familiar with Scratch and GameMaker, you'll know what I mean when I say I would love to make 3D games. At least my 2D games aren't rubbish. Better having a good 2D game than a bad 3D game.

Do you know when Dak and Jaxter will be done? Or how you plan on giving it out to the everyones that will want to play it?

Deppends on what I will be doing. By now I'm still creating the animations, and I'm thinking in better character designs. By now I'll say the game is 2% complete.
EDIT: I tried Scratch out. My face emoji "Daf*q I can't work on this"

May as well mention some more 3d engines:
Unity 3D (needs some programming… but not much…emoji
Blender 3D (Built in game engine)
Both of these are free!

Blender is an amazing bit of kit. I've used it to create 3D models and renders, very useful for my Engineering Design lessons, but I haven't yet mastered how to rig, animate or anything else frankly. Oh no I lie, I once managed to make a cube bounce across the screen.

Already tried out those… TOO CONFUSING. For now I'm sticking with MultiMedia Fusion.

That's exactly what I was thinking just before I abandoned it. It was a good place to start, but after 3 YEARS you completely grow out of it. I mean I wanted a simple Platformer where you play as a squishy ball that bounces and deforms and such stuff, but the program just couldn't handle it, and not only did it go slow, if I quit and reload it would not be all squishy and cool, just a straight circle. Not only that, but when I made a top-down shooter with strafing I wanted to make it so that the strafing didn't make the player drift away from the centre of focus (which is the mouse) so I used very precise measurements as to the degree it would follow (hard to explain) (to 3dp) and as the player got closer to the centre the degree would change in or out very slightly to make sure he didn't drift off… yea Scratch couldn't hack it. (there is a good chance I've got you lost, sorry about that)

GameMaker is like a dream come true when compared to Scratch! Maybe by the end of the year I will have finished my top-down shooter I call 'The Arrow Game' and can move on to some sort of 3D program!
