Yeah, but Mario Galaxy 1 has loads of padding when going for 100% Completion.
About 1/3 of the stars are from those comets that just add an extra gimmick to an existing level. Let's not forget Gold Leaf Galaxy…
Not to mention that you have to play the entire game twice in order to technically complete it. And for what? Another Purple Coin mission!
Galaxy 2's difficulty is much more natural. Levels are actually challenging and stuff. Not to mention that one week is still an extremely long time for a game. Usually I can complete a game in 3 or 4 days.
True. But Galaxy 1 is one of the few games I beat 100%. It was actually fun to complete and quite the challenge too. I planned to do the same with Galaxy 2, but it already bored me from the start. That final galaxy you unlock after beating Bowser.. there was this level based on Super Mario Sunshine:
Something like this, but different.
So I thought. ''In Sunshine, that level was pretty challenging. Maybe finally I can.. oh, I already beat it'' . The angle of which you could fall was incredibly decreased. I could smoothly walk over. That was the moment I gave up. And now I hate that game :/
Beating it in a week's because I don't have a lot of time to play each day. Let's say I beat 95% of the levels in the first, 2nd or 3rd try. The other 5 percent were a little harder.
Edit
I know it's an unpopular opinion. I always hear people say they think SMG2 is better. But for me personaly, it makes my teeth grind to hear that.
