Sujet : Films You Would Recommend For Halloween

Membre supprimé

Just like the Halloween Music thread, here's a thread for films that fits this kind of holiday.

What kind of films would you watch on Halloween? Which movies would you recommend to people? Which movies are not meant to be watched? Discuss scary films or Halloween themed motion pictures in this thread.

Here are a few I would recommend…

From Hell
From Hell is one of those films that might disturb you and gross you out, but the mysteries and plot based on Jack the Ripper is quite interesting in this film. Although, this film does have some nudity in it. If you are not into sexual content like that, then perhaps this isn't the movie you want to see. I liked how the editing for the gory parts were mostly quick and focused more on the sound effects of the stabbing and killing segments.

Black Christmas (original 70's film)
If you want to watch a good horror movie, I would suggest the original Black Christmas. This will give you shivers down your spine that contains eerie moments compared to the remake version of it, which is totally NOT worth checking out.

The Exorcist (The First One)
If you want to see a possessed child with a demon voice that could throw up green vomit, then this might be your film. emoji
But to be honest, even if the Exorcist was out in the early 70's, this movie can still creep you out.

Shaun of the Dead
If you want a film that has zombies and funny humour, then Shaun of the Dead is your kind of movie. Definitely a worth recommend for both comedy and zombie fans out there.

Ghostbusters
There's nothing that much to say about this movie, it's the perfect film to watch on Halloween, especially those who are into ghost butt kicking action.

Monster House
A great animated film that's adventurous and quite eerie to be honest. It had a solid story, great writing that is enjoyed by both kids and adults, and some scary moments that's perfect for Halloween. Also, the setting in Monster House is set in Halloween too. emoji

Beetlejuice
Even if I've seen this movie on TV so many times, but I got to admit, Beetlejuice is one of those films that is perfect for Halloween.

Disney's the Adventures of Icabod and Mr.Toad
Well, mostly the second half of the film featuring Ichabod Crane is a good moment to watch with the whole family on Halloween. We could see the Headless Horseman in Disney style and boy, did he scared the heck out of me when I was young. emoji

The Poltergeist
There are scary moments in this film. The girl talking to the static TV, the scary clown doll, the tree that tired to eat the boy… Yeah, I think I made my point there. I also think it's one of those films you can laugh at too, but it's the scary moments that might give you goosebumps.

I'm sure there's more in my head, but then again… I don't know too many horror flicks out there.

I would watch Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, because it is very funny and I like it when the names Frankenstein and Igor is pronounced differently (like eye-gor for Igor) in the movie. And my favorite parts in the movie is when Igor picks the (Abnormal) brain for the monster, and he says to Dr. Frankenstein that he picked up the "Abby-normal" brain, and Dr. Frankenstein says, "You mean Ab-Normal brain?" And my other favorite part is when the monster goes inside the blind man's house and gets his thumb on fire, because he is trying to have his cigar lighted. I thought that was funny emoji

Well, Halloween is coming soon folks. Does anyone else here have any other Halloween movies or specials to recommend to people who enjoy this holiday? emoji

How about…

Toy Story 3?

How about…

Toy Story 3?

Oh come now! That's not even Halloween themed one bit, unless you watch this following scene from the film over and over again:

The Monkey Scene

or perhaps any scenes with that creepy baby doll.

on second thought, it could work as a scary movie… for kids.

You can pretty much say that about the first Toy Story as well with Sid and his deformed creepy toys.

I've been re-watching the Paranormal Activity movies again. 3rd one was just released too. xD

Dunno. Most horror films don't really cut it for me. I'll probably watch Sleepy Hollow this year-like I do every year.

As for Young Frankenstine, emoji OH! Look at those knockers!! (I love the innuendos in this movie, Mel Brooks is a genius!)

The Halloween Tree is a good film to watch for Halloween.

Um…surely Monster High. Why?
Because the species of Monsters there are quite interesting.
I can't choose a movie for the Hallo Weenemoji!
