All money goes directly to Child's Play via PayPal, but does NOT require a PayPal account in order to donate. Donors who will also have a chance to win prizes from our raffles. In order for a donation to be eligible for the raffle, donors must donate $5. Donating more money does NOT effect your chances of winning, but there are benefits for donating more than $5 that we'll get to in just a second. For a normal raffle, as previously stated, a donation of $5 is all you need to be included. Donate $5, you're in the raffle, and you've got your shot at the current raffle. When the raffle you entered is over, you may donate another $5 during the next raffle. We're going to try to have as many raffles as possible. We want about one raffle per game, so there should be ten raffle prizes.
But wait, there's more!
$5 only gets you into a raffle. One of ten raffles, to be more precise. So that means if you donated just $5 10 times, that's $50 worth of donations, which is a great amount on its own, but come on, where's the fun in just that?
Well we've got some other things in store. A GRAND PRIZE.
Unlike our previous marathons which gave the grand prize to the highest donor, we're changing it up this time to make it easier to acquire. For just $20 per entry, you can enter to win a copy of Ratchet & Clank Trilogy. We're a United States-based group, so this means we'll have the game early for the event. The person who wins our Grand Prize Raffle will win the copy we played through. So for North American viewers, this means you could win a copy of a game before it even hits store shelves! Remember: this is a region-free game, like about 99.9% of PlayStaiton 3 games (Persona 4 Arena being the only exception). That means all three Ratchet & Clank games, remastered for the PlayStation 3 will be our thanks for donating.
And for the Grand Prize Raffle, you may enter as many times as you want. Every $20 donated from the beginning of the marathon to the end puts your name in the Grand Prize Raffle.
But that's not all! (again)
We can't just give things away, what about some more fun? We suck at singing. So for $25, we'll let you choose a song (preferably from video games or anime) and sing as best we can (and probably make hilarious highlight reels in the process).
In previous years, we've had a person chug a bottle of hot sauce, did a group Numa Numa sing along accompanied by us dancing, and even had one of us do barrel rolls while dodging marshmallows shot from a gun made out of PVC pipes. Yes, there were some marshmallow stains in the carpet we had to remove with ice, but it was worth it!!!
So we plan on doing a few pies in the faces this year, and stir up some new memorable moments for donations. So be aware!
