Sujet : Fuse, Insomniac's new IP

As many of us know, Insomniac started working on a new game called Overstrike. Didn't look like too bad of a game. A few days a go Insomniac released a screenshot of a game they called Fuse. It looked just like Overstrike, but with a 'darker' feel to it. Eventually Insomniac spilt the info on Fuse, and revealed that is is Overstrike, but it has undergone some major changes to the feel of the game and story.

You play as a team of four Overstrike agents Dalton Brooks, the strong guy, who was once working for the bad guys but has become good he also has a mean shield gun, Jacob Kimble, some crazy as detective with an electric crossbow, Naya Deveraux, Some sneaky person with a cloaking device and Isabelle Sinclair, some rebel scientist that has some gun which I don't understand, but it looks way OP.

According to the Fuse gamepage at insomnacgames.com:

The Premise:
When a volatile alien energy source called Fuse falls into the wrong hands, the CIA calls in an elite contact team to retrieve it: Overstrike 9. Join up to three friends in co-op play as you deploy lethal teamwork and Fuse-powered weapons to take down the rogue paramilitary corporation behind the theft.

Lethal Teamwork:
“LEAP” between agents during battle and combine their weapons and abilities for devastating results.

Secret Alien Tech:
Whoever controls Fuse will have unlimited power at their disposal.

Experimental Weapons:
Combine the agents’ Fuse-powered weapons to trigger Fusion for greatly increased damage.

Class Based Agents:
Develop agents along deep upgrade paths and discover all the possibilities for lethal teamwork.

What do you think? Better than Overstrike? Or worse than Overstirke?

(It's worth noting Insomnaic Games owns 100% of this IP and EA can't and HAVEN'T done a thing to change the game, they can't. They only publish the game for Insomniac, that is all.)

Something tells me that this'll be an instant hit! It's just a bit.. "Darker" Just the way I like my games!

Sounds like Gears of War with a few tweaks

Unfortunately the people don't seem to like where Fuse is going, I myself love it, and I'm sure many will. But at the moment a lot of Overstrike and Ratchet fans are most unhappy with what's happening to the game. To me it's a good change. A game that isn't as dark and serious as Resistance, but not as friendly and kiddy as Ratchet & Clank (not saying Ratchet & Clank is a kids game, just saying it's quite the opposite of Resistance. This game will have a good healthy amount of humour injected into it, according to the few lucky enough to play the game the humour is a little less extreme (so not exactly Uncharted style) so you can take the game more seriously (Nathan Drake, how do you make jokes out of everything while the world turns to hell around you?)

But knowing Insomniac Games there will be humour, and awesome weapons, that's the main thing!

EDIT: I just figured out a good game to comapre this to; Jak & Daxter. The first game was very happy and funny, even know the story was serious; Daxter had a serious problem, and Gol had a seriously evil plan. Yet Daxter still lightened the mood a lot. Like Overstrike. The game does very well and everyone loves it.
Then we get Jak II, everything is more serious, though still quite a funny game, everything is darker and more serious. It doesn't do so well because people say it was not a special as the first. Too dark.
I think Jak II had far better setting, story, characters, visual quality, music, machines and combat, but the way you prgressed resulted in me getting bored and it got a bit repetitive. I trust Insomniac's Fuse will do all this, but people will simply be too upset it's not Overstrike to get into it. Then again no one really saw Overstike, and Fuse is just getting started!

Insomniac were so cagey with info on Overstrike, it's entirely possible that there's very little difference. Also consider, they announced Fuse in the last, what, week, two weeks? And announced a release date of March 2013.
I know Insomniac create games quickly, but I don't think they can create them that fast.

But whatever, it's a new IG game, it looks good, has cool weapons, presumably big enemies, and most importantly its a third person shooter (I've never really got on with FPS's, but Resistance was the exception)

This isn't girl with a stick, they didn't throw it away and start from scratch, they just changed their direction a little bit. Technically they have been working on the game for quite some time now. And who knows how long a go the change was made? For all we know it could have been one year ago today!

Ok, so I had a look and found out that the gameplay, mechanics, characters etc are all much the same as the original Overstrike. Sounds like they kept the humour emoji but upped the graphics to a bit more realistic.
What they've mainly done is made the Fuse stuff more important in the story, rather than just as the target for the Overstrike team. Additionally it's now not a Teen rated game (don't know what the EU equvalent is, guess it's 15) so IG could indulge in bigger weapons, more blood, better explosions etc.

Oh,, now I'M getting excited. BUT HOLY ****! Is it juust me, or is everyone releasing promising games lately? I'll need like 200 bucks emoji

(Nathan Drake, how do you make jokes out of everything while the world turns to hell around you?)

Charm?…

I'm really getting to like Jacob "Jacob Kimble, is a former LAPD cop – “former” because his black-and-white brand of justice once involved locking a child-killer in the trunk of a car and burning him alive." Good on ya Jacob!

Well, for those interested in the game there is a demo out on PSN, only a couple of levels from what I assume is the middle of the story plus some how to play style instuctions.

Smashed through it in about 1/2 hour but was a lot of fun. Enjoyed making enemies implode or explode into wormholes.

I've only read reviews about it in a magazine. I didn't even know it was Insomniac's, I just saw some cool characters and it looked like something cool. I sure am gonna get it some time, but it will not be a release game for me.

I haven't played it, or the demo yet, but I read somewhere that a lot of the original concepts for the game were cut out, and it was boiled down from what looked like quite an interesting, colourful shooter, became one of those generic, brown shooters. But I might be wrong, I'm just reciting what I read before.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find all of the original information where I read that, instead, here's someone else's tweet, that says pretty much the same anyway…

Oh, I always ignore what others say about a game or movie or whatever. I wanna see it for myself.

In my opininon Fuse looks much better than Overstrike. The arsenal looks way better, the graphics look better, the storyline is better etc.I'll definitely be getting it.

I sure am gonna get it some time, but it will not be a release game for me.

Much the same here, it's fun, but not something I'd pay release price for. I'll wait till second hand copies are around then buy cheap.
