Well first off amazon.com is the american site. amazon.co.uk is the UK site.
You do need to sign up, I think with e-mail, address and bank card details. It's so long since I joined I've forgotten.
As for money it's in british pounds (£), but check with your bank before you buy anything cos they may charge extra for currency exchanges.
You might be able to purchase it with whatever your own currency is; they'd just convert the value in the credit transfer process.
