Sujet : Is the forum kinda dead?

I mean, look at it. There're next to no hot topics, there're a lot of deleted and inactive accounts, only one mod and he's not logged in that frequently, there can be 1 or 2 days without a new message being posted. Look at the Insomniac forums or heck, even the french version of this site, there are new posts in a matter of hours, If we're lucky our fate won't be the same as Starship Phoenix, but still.

It has it's ups and downs.

It probably won't get shut down because the French site is pretty big.

And we don't need many mods because everything is pretty inline, we all know what's right and whats not and everyone follows the rules fine. And we aren't active enough to need another mod.

Maybe we should (re)introduce some of those fun old fashioned forum games! Like the Ratchet & Clank quote game… which none of you were around to see anyway, so it would be like a fresh start!

So, what`s up your sleeve?

Well what we'd do is one person would post a quote and the next person would guess who said it. For example I say "Why you… you… evil little… and if you guessed 'Clank' then you'd get to say the next quote.

However if we were to do it again, I think what we could do to mix things up a little is have leaderboards on the first post, and the OP would be updated with the scores. +1 for a question guessed correctly and a -1 for a question done wrong.

The game would be no fun if people cheated, so we'd have to trust that people won't cheat. And you can only pose a quote you remember too.

If you like the idea, I'll start a thread for it. I think it would be best I start it, because I would be able to update it (the OP) more frequently… well I'm pretty sure I would. I usually go on here quite a lot.

EDIT: Another game I remember from LittleBigLand was this game where someone would give the answer to a question and the next would provide the question. There is no winning or loosing though.

E.g.

rr: Infinite TB Harddrive
me: What does the Great Clock store it's paradoxes on…
I fed it to the War Grok
rr: Where is Clank?
complete annihilation
me: what is the answer to life?

They are pretty bad examples, but that's just because I'm doing it with myself, and he's not very imaginative… oh god, I hope he didn't hear me saying that…

I'd love to see these games. In fact, I'd love to see anything going on around here. Due to the RG's lack of topics and people last days I finally made Insomc Forum account (why didn't I actually do that before). Anyway I don't want this forum to die. The number of active users you can actually count with one one hand…

And you can only pose a quote you remember too.

FULLY remember?

I mean like there is somebody, who say "Bolts in the bank" twice, but I just don't remember if the somebody said it like this:

"Bolts in the bank, boy, bolts in the bank."

And you can only pose a quote you remember too.

That one seems pretty general, but if you can't remember who said it then you had probably better do some thinking and recalling. That one would definitely be a considerably difficult one.

If no participants can guess it withing 24 hours of it's post we would have to have the person who posed it answer it, and if anyone can prove it was wrong, then the person who gave the incorrect quote gets a -1.

Fair enough?

No, I remember the one who said it emoji

I just don't remember 'how' emoji

Oh, okay. Well I think that'll be fine!

Unfortunately I'm going to have to backtrack a little on what I said. I won't be able to make the thread after all, because of things that have come up and stuff and junk. Therefore one of you shall be given the honor of creating the thread instead in hopes that it should keep our community alive for just a little longer.

I'll be back! (probably in a while though)

Poor thing, see you soon Ratchetruler emoji I think I'll come up with a theard then, since I'm here pretty often. If you have something against that, tell me emoji

It's always like that when there hasn't been a new game out lately, now more so when the last few games haven't been "proper" R&C's. I suppose the active user base will again broaden when ITN is released, at least that's what we've seen around the releases of A4O, FFA and the HD Trilogy. Especially now that ITN is supposed to be a "classic" R&C game, I suppose we'll see new members here around its release.

What we're mainly lacking here are the non-Ratchet-related threads there are on the French site. They have a rather large all-around gaming section (compared to the size of the user base even in the French site), but also a busier and more imaginative (in terms of thread topics) general/off-topic section.

And people also tend to visit the site season-basedly, that some more or less inactive users (like me) just visit the site when there's something happening regarding R&C.

I just joined this forum, but at least it's more active than that Star Fox forum I found.

I hope this forum doesn't die. I remember when I joined this site back in about 2009, there were only about 7 active members; and now, apart from RevanAC, our moderator, I'm the last of those people left on this forum, and it's a little depressing! Over the years, I've seen so many other forums die off, but this one has always survived, so I really don't want to see it go!
I'm sure in some time, when the next game is released, more people will start flocking here again! And maybe even in a few years time, when Sony decide to discontinue the Ratchet franchise, people will still use this forum to socialize with the other members!
Long live Ratchet-Galaxy; the first forum I ever joined, and one of the few that I've belonged to that still exists!

lombaxdude, you're using a lot of exclamation points in your posts emoji

Do I really use that many? I guess it's easy to lose track of how often you use things like that if your're in the habit of overusing them… emoji
