No, I meant that Top Gun could count as an Ace Combat movie.
Nah, for me Top Gun is just another "Murica Above All" movie, while most of the Ace Combat games are set in a fictional world. Also, in Top Gun, the enemies used what so called MiG-28 fighters, which are just F-5 fighters.

Not sure if you guys knew, but the Gex IP (among others) is open source now. Any developer can pitch an idea, if Square likes it they can develope it. I'd love to see a new Gex.
sorry werent around them days but i do believe gex is an amazing game.
Me neither, didn't own a PlayStation until I was much older. They're pretty great platformers though, I think it's interesting for a band of old fans or an indy developer to pick this up.

Although I doubt a Gex game could really work nowadays, most of the previous games' charm is how ridiculously 90s they are.
If they were to make a new Gex game, it'd probably end up like Duke Nukem Forever.
I'd probably be a complete make-over if anyone were to take the IP.
