That looks pretty cool! I'd much rather be stuck with hundreds of butterflies than hundreds of ants… which is what I am currently looking at in real life. They are all dead thanks to a ridiculously excessive quantity of fly spray, so I guess now I have to do something about the bodies.

I really don't like ants. They multiply too fast, and live within people's homes, which is very inconsiderate.

Lucky, I get empty roads in my town a lot emoji

You mean you don't get a lot of traffic on the road? I'd say that's a good thing, unless you were a business owner.

That's what I meant, sorry emoji. but, it does make walking to school a lot more peaceful

Indeed it must. When I walked home from school I found that traffic was a little irritating being there, but it's nothing compared to how annoying traffic is when you're a driver.

Yep! We had like 15-30 monarchs at once in our garden, and that's just them–there were other butterflies too!

Sorry, I just lost my manhood, but I love butterflies a lot emoji

Hey, that's okay. I also like butterflies. By the way, since rain season is upon us, people of Bogor, that means:

(I really regret my haircut. My hairdresser cut my bangs too short and they look like a Monk's. So I had to wear a ponytail emoji )

Those white pupils though!

Nice new avatar you have there, Heather. I guess you have started playing inFamous: Second Son then… does that mean you played the PS3 games? Because I'd have thought you'd have said something if you were playing those two games.

Either way, Second Son and First Light do still work pretty well on their own, despite being weaker on the story side than the first two.

Also, speaking of Mosquitoes, we are due to get them again now. Good thing insects in New Zealand don't have the capacity to do much more than irritate people, though. I understand that in some countries mozzies are deadly! emoji

Yeah. I wanted to Photoshop them, but I feel a little awkward doing that with people looking at my screen (I'm at school).

About inFamous: SS, I finished Second Son yesterday! And now my honest opinion of it is: ''It's alright''.
I find the game forgetable and more like a tech demo than a game made by loving and caring developers. I keep forgetting the names of the character I was playing as (Dustin, Deslin… Delsin!) and that's a bad sign. I missed a little more character developement. Each character has potential, but it isn't fully unlocked.

Brooke Augustine, for example, was a freaking cool villian imo! I kept wondering what her backstory was. I expected something epic about her hating herself, her life, the world, everyone. That she locked all Conduits up so she could try to find a way to remove her powers, to become a normal person again. So… I was a little dissapointed at the end. She's conflicted, but not really that in an 'epic villian you ca't hate' kind of way.

The gameplay reminds me of Sly Cooper, but without the grand scale feel of it. Seatle is so big and beautifull! But I felt like I was taking detours from the main story all the time. In Sly you have a connection between each mission, to pull the final heist! Didn't have that feel of connection in inFamous.

First Light, on the other hand, I freaking love! It's a couple hours shorter, but it has more character developement, interesting gameplay and story than Second Son has.

But that's just my opinion of it. So I was wondering, if Second Son didn't really get to me. Are inFamous 1 and 2 still worth playing?

Yeah, we all know mosquitoes can carry dangerous diseases like Dengue Fever and Malaria. Since they lay their eggs in water, and we have some water plants here, I'll just expect my mom buying some mosquito larvicides. Like this:

Well I think you missed something with Brooke's character, because…

It was revealed at the end of the game that she was in her own way trying to protect all of the Conduits of the world, and train them up to presumably bring down all the non-Conduits. This started with her and her friend Celia getting into a sticky situation that resulted in Celia being turned in by Augustine, and leading onto Augustine's development of a facility to hold people with Conduits. To Augustine it was a way of protecting them, but to everyone else it seemed as though Augustine didn't care for them at all. Note how Augustine has never allowed for a single act of Conduit murder on her watch, except the attempts on our wildcard, Delsin. Delsin interfered in Seattle on Augustine's plan to strengthen the DUP's funding as a matter of fact. (from here on it's stuff about the epilogue Paper Trail missions from Second Son) The DUP was a very dark and mysterious organisation, even to the US government, so the military wanted to seize control of the conduits from Augustine, due to her strange attitude towards handling the conduits at the mysterious Curdon Cay (a battle prison for training the Conduits). Augustine could tell this was going to go down, so set up the first transfer of conduits to the new military facility, not run by Augustine, the Bio-terrorist, to go horribly wrong near Seattle, where Augustine could show the world just how important the DUP is in order to keep everyone safe from the Conduits. This would solve the funding problem, and allow Augustine to keep all her Conduits "safe".

Either way, I kind of agree with you. Second Son makes a great teach demo, but falls flat on it's face plot-wise. For a sequel to inFamous 2, it's a bit disappointing.

I would recommend the original Duology, even still. If you liked First Light's characters and story then you should probably find the first two games fairly fun.

If I were to judge the games based on best story telling the order would go:

1. inFamous 2
2. inFamous: First Light (mini-adventure)
3. inFamous
4. inFamous: Second Son
5. inFamous: Festival of Blood (non-cannon, mini-adventure)

If I were to judge the games based on best gameplay the order would go:

1. inFamous: Second Son
2. inFamous: First Light
3. inFamous 2
4. inFamous: Festival of Blood
5. inFamous

(It's worth noting that unlike the stories, the gameplay in these games is superb every time)

Down here the Mozzies are completely harmless and carry no diseases, so I am not aware of any dedicated pesticide for them. I certainly have never heard of "larvicides".

Oh, yeah I got that. I really liked it, but it was so sudden. I expected something a little more dark than that. emoji

But thanks. I kind of planned on taking inFamous 1 and 2 of my wishlist. In those games, do all the missions you do in the overworld add something to the endgame or can they be as random as Second Son?

Well the early inFamous games (at least) were praised for their good approach to proper open-world-ish sandbox game design. If you want to just blast through the story on it's own you will be able to do so fine, and not miss a hell of a lot. But there are a fair variety of side missions you can do as an excuse to kill more baddies and level up your power score more so that you can buy new power-ups (the old power system was quite different before Second Son). Overall the side missions are not that important to the story, but you might find them fun to play, and end up doing them anyway. On the other hand you have the easy-to-find collectible "dead drops" in the earlier games. These do enhance the story a little by giving you some backstory on particular characters that is mostly quite dull and forgettable. Blast Shards are less useful in these earlier games, as they only expand on the maximum power level of the character. You'll still want to keep your eyes open for them, but they are not worth loosing much sleep over trying to collect.

tl;dr: The main missions are really fun and are all that is required to get the story, but the side missions are also relatively fun and varied, but don't help with the story much at all. However side missions are a good way of really powering up your guy, and making him much stronger. And inFamous games were so much more about the power trip in terms of gameplay back then.

EDIT: Actually I think I just went off on a tangent here and forgot to answer your question.

In inFamous 1 the story missions are super releavent at the start and end. In the middle it is a lot of fluff that acts as filler. Although the structure of the game is far more solid than that of Second Son.

inFamous 2 has the strongest story. It's really engaging all the way through. Maybe there will be one, two or five story missions that feel like side-quests though.

Really? Mosquitoes are harmless in NZ? But admit it, you must hate that moment when you hear a mosquito wings' sound near your ear when you are trying to sleep. And is "mozzie" a slang only used in NZ, or maybe Australia and UK?
