I don't have time to go through that many comments to find yours.

What makes you think they would Foxhound MGS3 for fun? Having a good knowledge of the series does not directly effect how well they play. Personally I feel that I am a far below average player for the MGS games… mostly because I never really aim to achieve any of the harder challenges in the games, I think.

Because you'd have to play the game a significant ammount of times in order to have such an extensive knowledge about it.
Maybe not Yong's comment section, but I'm afraid of the MGSForums community. They just know every single gameplay strategy, every single cutscene word for word, every single interview word for word and every single translation error. It's a bit ridiculous to be honest.

And:

I'm thinking Big Boss' bigger horn is made out of soldier's diamonds, since it's transperent as opposed to black/dark grey.
Also, it's possible that Quiet is a nomad and either the Soviets or Diamond Dogs raped her or stripped her out of most of her clothing, which would explain why she's so exposed.

Both possible theories. But we just don't know enough right now to have any really solid theories on that sort of thing though.

I originally was under the impression that this Metal Gear must be what directly inspires Metal Gear REX, due to the Railgun and overall look of the head. But I just remembered that Railguns can be used for more than firing nukes, and that Zeke had one… my bad!

But still, it would be cool to have XOF working on this thing, and have Bog Boss fight it at the end to bring them down (In a final twist with the formation of Outer Heaven). Or if Snake teams up with XOF to form Outer Heaven, and what we are seeing is the remake of the TX-55!?

That Metal Gear too, has not enough known about it for us to know for sure, what to think. But I sure am looking forward to finding out more come 1984!

I think it's a re-designed TX-55, the original looks pretty goofy in my opinion, especially in 3D.
It could also be "the weapon to surpass Metal Gear" though.

Also, maybe it's just me, but what if Mother Base ends up becoming Outer Heaven from MG1 and the S3 plan has more to it than just replicating Shadow Moses? Snake wasn't a legendary soldier just because of Shadow Moses, Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land also helped shape Snake into the legendary soldier he's in MGS2 and maybe the Patriots realised this and made Big Shell have the same layout as Outer Heaven.

EDIT: I find it adorable that peopleare trying to figure out an anagram in the release date, as it's obviously just a joke directed to the people who were begging for a release date in the new trailer.

Yea, it's pretty funny.

And I too agree that the TX-55 looks pretty dated. And you have a good point with Snake's adventures within Zanzibar and Outer Heaven.

Kojima admitted to the possibility of inconsistencies, such as with TX-55. Perhaps the "to surpass Metal Gear" was referring to using the Railgun for the nuke as well?

Wasn't REX inspired by Granin's plans? Didn't they mention something about Huey stealing Metal Gear's idea? Maybe until Ray rolled around every Metal Gear looked like REX and that's just a retconned TX-55.

Something I found interesting though was in that trailer, while they're saying "a weapon to surpass Metal Gear" we see Snake ride this:

Maybe that's it emoji

That's a pretty puny and pathetic Metal Gear though, isn't it?

No doubt, it seems to fit the description of one, seeing as how it's walking and could probably wield all sorts of amazing guns. But it seems a bit too small to surpass Zeke.

Gotta wonder what happened to Zeke though? I mean it was probably destroyed by the base crushing it, but I wonder if it survived?

Who said it was a Metal Gear?

True, but how could it surpass Metal Gear? I mean I wouldn't feel much for confident in that thing than I would in Zeke.

But it does look like it could be titled a Metal Gear. It walks, and has probably got heavy weaponry. Totally fits the decription better than the Hammerheads in Metal Gear Rising.

Well… maybe it's Snake and Liquid? The weapon I mean.

Ha ha, yea that would be great!

I just walked by that MGS Legacy Edition they were selling. It was just the game, it was missing the artbook, sleeve and etc. So I just left it there.

You'll find one somewhere. I usually buy second hand games from the internet (don't worry, I feel bad while doing it too), but maybe you have more reliable and accessible physical shopping mediums.

I remember running into the YouTube channel Super Bunnyhop a while back, and found his reviews and critical close-ups on Metal Gear games to be very true and eye-opening. Recently he did MGS3, and I've come to realise I may have been more than right. MGS3 isn't the best 3rd entry into a videogame series. No it isn't even the best 3rd entry into any series. It's the best thing in the entire world. Better than any movie, book, game or piece of extremely comfortable furniture any old day!

EDIT: If you're going to play Metal Gear, try approach it with an open mind.

Instead of worrying about the poor resolution in MGS1, admire the minimap.
Instead of hating on Raiden in MGS2, admire the minimap.
Instead of frantically worrying about the lack on minimap in MGS3, use your natural senses like a normal human being.

Seriously, I was so caught out on MGS3's lack of minimap at first I resorted to using the tranq. gun all the way trough… but then learnt there was more to life than that. Like using the sniper rifle, and knifing things. Like seriously, all I need in that rifle, and my knife and I'm set!

EDIT2: If you are buying the Legacy Collection second hand though, I advice you make sure it includes the download vouchers for the comics and MGS1. You can't start without MGS1!

Admire the mini map, got it. (Reminds me of Spinter Cell on 3DS)

I actually watched the Caddi's Retrospectives of the MGS trilogy. Ater that I bought the Vita collection and once again decided I didn't really like it. Even though Caddi made those games look supreme!

Funny thing, Caddy was the one who told me how to enjoy the games.
I should probably send him a letter… and try out Max Payne 2 some time in the future.
