Mm said they wouldn't be making any LBP game after LBP2, and I guess they stuck by it. I mean those guys are all so creative, even LBP was holding them back!
I could see why they wanted to move on though. There just isn't all that much more to offer.

There's one thing that fans have asked for quite some time, a that is a 3D LBP. Honestly, if they had done that, I'd be much more hyped up. But they have to stick to the basics and can't mess with the original engine too much…
LBP going 3D reminds me of Sonic's first steps into the 3D era. Some ideas look great on paper, just paper.

Wide range 3D platforming for LBP? I just don't see it, the puzzle element might alter too much.
I was hinking more of a 3D collect-a-thon. I mean, LBP's story mode is all about collecting stuff.
Ah, I see. I've never played a LBP, so I thought it was similar to, say, Rayman: Legends. Moving from left to right.
It is, but the reason most people play the Story Mode is to collect the various items hidden throughout the levels.
It has puzzles, but so do 3D open world collect-a-thons.
Besides, imagine an openwrold city level where you can fly around with the cape! I'd open up my monitor and put money inside it!

And I remember seeing a thread on LBPCentral, it seemed like most people liked the idea, but there was a group who thought it'd be too hard to create, which I don't see how that's possible to assume.
Changing a 2D sidescroller to a 3D sidescroller is like game-to-movies. People have got their opinions ready before they even see it. *sigh
Movies are understandable, though.
Unlike games, you don't play a movie, you watch it. And when you watch a trailer you're tecnically waching a portion of the movie and you can form a basic opinion out of that (camera work, special effects, characters etc…
