I don't live here, my school's here. I live 1,5 hours away so my house should be safe. Unless the fire decides to take a boat.

Don't underestimate it! Some fires can get big enough that they act like germs/parasites, finding all sorts of hosts, and using them to spread across vast distances- the short answer is no. They usually prefer to take the train.

Firefighter just came in. The smoke's fading so I guess I can put my 'escape plan that includes laptop' away.

Great, they managed to keep the fire out of your school, but while it was distracting them there, the Firefighters did not see it slip into the train and prepare to grow in an absolutely gigantic scale across wherever your train goes!

Maybe it snuck out on a homeless person or in the back of someone's car? Who knows what it's capable of! All I know for sure, is it didn't take a boat. Fires are terribly afraid of large bodies of water!
