Even after The Clone Wars he's still alive?! Huh, I'll just keep holding on the fact that Obi-Wan killed him in Episode I. Btw, which side would he join? Or maybe he'd just be a neutral character?

He hates the sith and jedi, so he's neutral. But he wants both destroyed.

A fanfilm came out recently, centered around Maul. It was insanely good! Look for 'Darth Maul Apprentice'.
DID ANYONE ELSE WATCH THAT STAR WARS REBELS SEASON FINALE?!?!?!?

I don't watch Rebels but I did see Darth Vader is in it.
It was so good! Everything happened in that episode!

Everything? Spoil if you wish, I'm not planning on watching it anyway.
Ok. So in the previous episode, Yoda told Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka to go to Malacor, a sith planet. They see petrified bodies of old jedi and sith warriors, including a green kylo ren lightsaber. Then, an Inquisitor attacks them, and separates Ezra. He them meets…DARH MAUL! Since Ezra doesn't know who he is, he trusts him. Together, they find a sith holocron, which they can use to defeat Vader (Maul wants revenge on the emperor and vader).
Ahsoka and Kanan try to reason with him, but unfortunately, the 3 team up, and engage in an epic duel against the Inquisitors!

Darth Maul kills all 3 inquisitors. Ezra takes the holocron to the top of the temple, and places it in an obelisk. There he learns that he was being used as an agent of the dark side of Maul's evil purposes. Maul the betrays Kanan and Ahsoka, and slices out Kanan's eyes!!! Ahsoka duels Maul for a bit, before realizing she needs to find Ezra. Kanan, having lost his vision, must rely on the force to see what can not be seen. In a tense duel, he defeats Maul, and then calls for his ship.
Ezra then is confronted by Darth Vader, who duels him quickly, and destroys Ezras lightsaber. As Vader is about to kill him, ahsoka finally confronts Vader! In one of the most epic duels in Rebels history, Ahsoka slices off vaders mask, revealing the truth: He is anakin skywalker (more specifically, Matt Lanter)!
Ezra finds Kanan, and together, they remove the holocron from the obelisk, detroying the temple. While Ezra and Kanan escape, Ahsoka stays to save Vader. An explosion occurs, and Kanan says "It's over." What follows is a reuniting with the Rebels, but no Ahsoka, which sadness Rex. Darth Maul escapes, doing who-know-what, an injured Vader rises from the rubble, and Ahsoka? We see a bit of her, walking into the sith temple. Kanan now has no eyes, Ezra has no lightsaber, but at the very end, we see him open a sith holocron, and then his eyes turn red. The end!
You should watch the duel, it's very epic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nr7ufR7utEo

Cool, I'll check out the vid when I have fancy school wifi again:oui:
I just about Kanan's eyes in a Facebook post. People are discussing he's the Disney version of Kota (Force Unleashed). If Disney was planning on recycling plotpoints, why not just…. never mind.
Anyway, I love how Malacor is a part of Rebels now. It's a planet from Knights of the Old Republic where Darth Revan disappeared to. Later Carth Onasi, Revan's lover, asks the Exile to search for her on Malacor V. Which ends in some epic bloodshed with Darth Traya. Does Malacor's appereance make yet another Legends entry canon?
(Also, there was Darth Bane in Clone Wars, and Revan was in the Darth Bane series and… too confusing)

Well, Kanan said in the beginning that Malacor was off-limits to jedi, because of old legends. Ahsoka then replied "There's always a bit of truth in legends." Sounds to me like the star wars team really wants include some great aspects of the EU

Ooh, that's awesome! The Malacor V bit in Knights of the Old Republic II is probably one of my favorite moments in Star Wars. The single time that:
…everyone was neutral. Just 2 characters fighting eachother whilst not being at conflict. Just a mentor showing her pupil that she despised the Force. As does her pupil. In my story anyway. But it always stuck, never altered my playthrough
The duel between Ahsoka and Vader was definitely one of the best duels in Star Wars animation (next to Maul vs Sidious)

Maul's still alive?????
Yep! He even survived through that episode!
