Sujet : What's up with Ratchet?

And Lara Croft… and Solid Snake… and Jak… and Sly Cooper…

What a second… do you really think Solid Snake is all that lucky? I mean in Metal Gear 1 he had to fight his commander and father, in Metal Gear 2 he lost someone he cared about (which seemingly emotionally wrecks him) and finally killed Big Boss. Ever since Metal Gear Solid he's been running around trying to fix the mess he feels responsible for after that game, and then we have MGS4 which sees him grow old and tired way before his time.

I wouldn't consider Snake very lucky outside of combat, which I believe we are supposed to legitimately believe is largely down to skill (with a fair amount of luck).

He sort of is though.
He was extremely lucky that Grey Fox appeared when he did, or else he wouldn't have been able to defeat Rex.
He was lucky that FoxDie didn't kill him.
He was lucky for surviving the Tanker incident.
He was lucky that Raiden was on the Big Shell, or else he probably wouldn't have been able to stop Arsenal.
He was lucky that Raiden was able to hold off so many things in MGS4 so he could complete his mission, including Outer Haven.
He was lucky to survive the microwave tunnel.
He was lucky that the virus Drebin infected him with nullified FoxDie.

He may not be as lucky as the other characters I mentioned psychologically, but I'd say he's still pretty damn lucky in live or die situations.

Wow, lots of characters are lucky. But they kinda have to be if they are main characters. Or you have to be skilled enough to beat the levels playing with them. So, any other powers that Ratchet could have? (trying to get back on topic…emoji

Ratchet's other power? High immunity. Because he could survive a ray of the laser in Nefarious Station (but not for long though), an explosion, a few hits from melee attack, and other type of attacks

He has the power to magically be connected to every plot point in the series…

Ratchet has the power to carry a huge arsenal in his pocket. (Although, I've always imagined that he has some kind of a pocket-dimension device… Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they ever explain it in the game, not sure why they don't. I'm really curious to see what explanation the movie has to offer.)

You mean Clank's belly?

The same rules appiles to the millions of bolts they aquire.

Maybe Clank has a shrinker inside his belly, so it shrinks stuff that they acquire so it would fit inside

My Dad would always say "Well ship fumes can't exist in space, so why question anything else?" He has a point.

There's a simple explanation to that though: it's not fire.

I doubt that the weapons are stored inside Clank. Ratchet has plenty of weapons on planet Oltanis without Clank, as well as the first part of Ratchet & Clank 2, after Clanks kidnapping in Ratchet & Clank 3, during his alone time on Reepor, and throughout the majority of Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time and so on…

That's true. It doesn't quite make sense. But then how does he do it?

Ratchet is BATMAN.

HA! nice one, though obviously not true. so, how does Ratchet carry all those weapons?

Well, a shrinker inside his pocket. That's enough for a speculation
