Sujet : Want a Ratchet figure?

Membre supprimé

This may seem like an odd topic but…

A while back after I got back from Germany, my Clank figurine (from the R&C series 1 figures) was destroyed by my cousin, and recently… I got a new one to replace the old one, cheap off someone. BUT that leaves me with two Ratchet figures emoji (only with the wrench) since it was sold with the Clank.

(No, he didn't come with the combustor, unfortunately)

So I was thinking about maybe holding a little art contest where fans can draw something (which I can judge) and then I send the winner the Ratchet with Wrench figurine in the mail… for free emoji I've held a OB contest in 2008, and over 20 people joined and I sent out prizes to the top 3 winners. So you can trust me on this one… emoji

So, what do you guys think? Good idea? It could be a chance for a R&C fan to get a Ratchet figurine for free XD since I dont need two of the same one!

That would be a pretty sweet idea. I wouldn't mind joining up for this contest one bit.

My only concerns would be where will the contest be held at, what are the rules for this contest, the usual stuff that you need for any contests what-so-ever.

Well I'll just see how many are actually interested first, and then I'll hold the contest emoji but yeah, it'll be R&C related of course… I actually had ideas for doing a bigger contest sometime (maybe next year) but this can just be something of a smaller scale, just for fun.

But I really wouldn't mind sending it out to the winner emoji better than me giving it to some random kid around where it most likely will end up broken XD As they're not really kids toys, they're more for display (even on the packages it says "for ages 14 and up", which is kinda funny lol)

Really? That's pretty rare to see an age label that says "ages 14 and over", even well known collectibles like Final Fantasy, The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and even Star Wars figurines would say "3 years and older" most of the time. So there could be a reason why I don't see any of the R&C action figures in any store near my home, even in the comic book ones.

May I make a suggestion?

I guess if you want more people to know about this thread, why not change the title to "Anyone want a free R&C action figure"? So that way you can probably get more comments and agreements with the contest you want to hold up for this particular prize.

Sounds like a sweet idea. emoji

Sorry for the late reply, I was away for a few days emoji

But yeah I was going to have "Anyone want a free Ratchet figure?" but then they might get annoyed when they realize they have to draw for it XD cause not all fans are artists… but I'd like to do this though, for those who are interested.

I'm not sure what kind of R&C art can be drawn though… you guys have any interesting suggestions? My little bro reckons I should get people to draw one of my R&C fancharacters (since it is me giving the figure for free, after-all) but I want people to enjoy drawing what they enter, dont want it to seem forced… XD it should be R&C related, though.

Makes sense, so I could see why you wouldn't want to have a title like that for this thread.

That would be interesting to do, but like you said, there could be some that may not participate due to the contest being forced. Plus most users here may not be aware about the characters from your fan-fic. I think sticking to an universal topic would make many participate for the figuirne.

Perhaps you could make a contest for contestants to draw a fan-character with an official Ratchet and Clank character? Or design your own Ratchet and Clank villain? Or design a Ratchet and Clank character wearing the kind of armor from Deadlock?

These are only some suggestions I can give you for ideas, but I'm sure you can think of something that could be way more intriguing than what I had to offer.

yeah, I wasn't too sure about a contest where they draw something of mine since it isn't as well known as Outcast Bandicoot is in the Crash fandom emoji (I held a contest for that a couple of years ago. Lots of entries and I gave a lot of prizes…emoji

So it'll be cooler to try something canon, as you suggested emoji I'll try to spice the topic up a bit more and even get a photo of the figure itself, so people know more. I'm just busy at the moment, website updates, emails and the lot XD (being away for the weekend does that!)

It's fine, just take your time. There's no need to rush this right away when you have other things to do. emoji

Man….. I wish I could get it but I'm not an artist emoji but it is very generous of you to offer this chance to fans emoji

I already have this figurine, and the Clank that goes with it. It'll be cool to see who wins it though emoji hope a good artist who really wants it wins. Would actually be better if they drew something of yours though, because it is YOU who is putting the prize up for grabs, and it is you who is sending it with your own money. Maybe even someone from the Sonic 7? But I do understand that some fans are fussy and only like to draw Lombaxes and nothing else so maybe something involving scenes from the games?

Added a photo of it (with my other Clank and Ratchet)

I'm still deciding on what to do with the little contest… but the ideas I have are…

1. Draw one of your favourite scenes from the games (Can be from any of the R&C titles)
2. Draw one of your own characters meeting, hanging out or running from… an official character from the games.
3. Draw one of your favourite duos, bossfights, couples or rivals together emoji (Can contain a fancharacter, but must at least have ONE or two official characters!)

I think either option one or option two would be the best choices so far. Option 1 would be neat because I think drawing a moment from one of the games can be quite intriguing to do, especially in your own style. Option 2 would probably make many participate because most of us do enjoy making fan-characters and it would be fun to draw a fan-character with one of the official characters.

So yeah, I think option 1 or 2 sounds best at the meantime. :oui:

I'll only do this if I get enough people entering though, maybe at least 10 people… since I want it to be worth sending out emoji it wont cost me much anyway.

I also think that people can give their ratings or votes for the winner too, as well as my judgement. Just to make it a bit easier to choose a winner emoji since I sometimes feel bad picking a winner cause of the others who entered… but you know, we might even hold a bigger, and better contest later in the year, with more and better prizes (especially when those new figurines come out)
