-HALO
-StarGate
-BattleStar Galactica
-Fifth Element
-The Day The Earth Stood Still
-District 9
-The Invasion
-Independence Day
-Men In Black
-Gremlins (Does that count as Sci-Fi?)
-Day of the Triffids
-Midwhich Cukoos

Anything of the sort. :oui:

EDIT: I will be updating the above list with anything mentioned by members on this thread

Ahh, now you're talking my language emoji I'm a huge sci-fi geek, hehe.

My absolute favourite tv show of all time is Farascape (which if you've not seen I can't recommend enough) - Long story short, it's the story of an astronaut how got sucked down a wormhole and spat out on the other side of the universe and his efforts to try and return home and evade the ever growing number of bad guys chasing him. I won't say more then that (believe me I could talk for HOURS about the show) 'cause this isn't a thread about Farscape but other sci-fi.

Other shows I enjoyed include Stargate SG-1 and the new Universe series, didn't really get on with Atlantis for some reason. I grew up watching Red Dwarf, so that's always been a favourite. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is the only Star Trek series I've enjoyed enough to buy DVDs … this list could get quite extensive, lol. Oh! The re-imagined Batllestar Galactica, that was an epic series! How could I have forgotten about that?!?

As for other video games, I really liked both Mass Effect games, and am really looking forward to the third one when it comes out. I enjoyed Half Life 2 quite a bit as well (it's about time Episode 3 was released!)

Oh and I think The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is up to a trilogy of 7 now! Hehe.

Sci-fi really depends on the style for me. I ain't too big on Sci-Fi unlike my older sister.

In TV programming, I could think of Futurama as the only Sci-Fi show (more like animated Sci-Fi show) that I enjoy to watch. I don't worship the show constantly unlike Matt Groening's other animated program, The Simpsons, but I would sometimes watch Futurama once in a while. And even though I wasn't a fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but I did liked the epic score intro that the show had.

In films, it's pretty rare for me. But the only Sci-fi film that I've really enjoyed was The Fifth Element. Sure, there were some cheesy moments, but it's cheesy moments at it's finest (except maybe any of the Chris Tucker scenes, which kind of annoyed me a bit). But, I did liked Bruce Willis' character, the atmosphere of the film and the fact that the Perfect Human (aka the Fifth Element) was a female. Go Girl Power!

In video games… I think there are a few I like, but of course it's quite minimal. Other than the Ratchet and Clank series being my favourite Sci-Fi games, I also like Perfect Dark 64 and Beyond Good and Evil (which both games have female protagonists). Perfect Dark was additively fun for it's time, especially when you can play as an alien in multiplayer. And Beyond Good and Evil was a great game experience with it's original concept of sci-fi and fantasy and outstanding soundtrack. Still waiting for Beyond Good and Evil 2 to come out, but it's going to take a long time for that to happen. emoji

For some reason, I never saw Jak and Daxter as a full Sci-Fi series, but more of a Magical Fantasy series. Maybe in some elements in Jak 2 and Jak 3 there are Sci-Fi things in those games in particular, but not 100% fully. I think everyone thinks that the Jak and Daxter trilogy is Sci-Fi due to the hoverbikes, cars and boards in the series, correct? emoji

Yeah, I tend to refer to them as "the seven books in the trilogy of five"

LOL! It's similar to another series of books written by Robert Rankin collectively called the Brentford Trilogy, that's now upto about 7 books. Though not actually science fiction (more fantastical fiction) they were just as funny as Hitchhiker's. Definitely recommend giving those a read if you ever get the chance.

Look like I am not the only one in this forum who likes The Fifth Element then. emoji

My dad is huge fan in watching Stargate, especially the TV series. Me and my sister on the other hand couldn't get how he could watch that show though. Since we found it to be so highly confusing, we couldn't sit through it. But then again, my dad is pretty open up to watch anything, even Sci-Fi programming and films that can turn out to be utter trash throughout. emoji

I've also watched the original Star Wars trilogy too and they are worth watching, but I am not totally obsessed on the whole franchise like a lot of people are. I appreciate the amazing production and presentation quality for the film's time, but I would absolutely NOT go Star Wars geek-a-tron on your face like half of the fans would (since I don't know that much about the series to be honest).

I'm not sure if Terry Pratchett counts as Sci-fi/fantasy or just fantasy, but I reckon he is totally epic!
