Sujet : What Video Game Are You Currently Playing?

I hope I do. I don't usually like owning games I don't like playing.

Me neither. At that point though, I usually just trade it in… emoji

That's the thing, I never like to let go of games, even those which aren't that great. Which is why it is so sad to get a game I don't like.

I remember when I traded R&C:SM for Killzone: Liberation to some guy at school. It was a temporary swap, and we would trade back after we were done. I enjoyed KZ:L, but liked R&C:SM more, and although he liked SM more, he was willing to trade back. Then he broke his arm and I didn't see him for a while. He did come back, but I was in the busy part of the year and had to prepare to move onto a tertiary institution. I graduated and we never met again.

Now I am stuck with a reminder (the game KZ:L) of why I should always be wary of my "temporary" game trades.

I'm guessing it's too late to email him and mail each others games back.

Funny story.
I'd get crappy licensed games of popular movies to trade with kids who had actually good games and then I'd never return them, in fact that's how I got my hands on Zelda A Link to the Past, one of my favourite games ever.

I remember just getting scratched discs with a collection of finger prints on them. That's when I stopped swapping games with people.

I always wondered how some people managed to scratch their discs so fast. Last month I took my Frozen BluRay to my uncle for him to watch. First he put the disc on the floor on the wrong side, dropped it, put it down wrong again, wiped it with his shirt (Bad. Néver do that). *sigh. These are the kind of people Netflix was made for.

wiped it with his shirt (Bad. Néver do that).

Wait, what?

Shirt = dirt

And I couldn't Email him because we never gave each other any contact info. Heck, we didn't even know each others names. But we knew each other by face. If only he didn't break his arm.

Shirt = dirt

Well, it's worked so far.
I guess it's the equivelant of blowing on a cartdrige…
Anyway, don't know if you guys knew this but using toothpaste actually works on scratched games, so if anyone wants to relive some memories with a game they can't play anymore that's the way to do it.

I didn't think that actually worked! emoji

I once bought an Xbox game (Jade Empire) in a video store. It had already left the store when I figured out it was far too scratched up to work. (After that I also started checking discs before purchase)

I tried toothpaste, special cleaning kits, special polishing etc. While my disc smells really nice now, it didn't fix it at all. So I just purchased a new one for €3. No biggy. emoji

If you try to wipe finger prints of your disc with you're shirt you just expand them instead of making them disappear. And usually you apply a small scratch or two.

Confession time: I always use my shirt or a piece of tissue to clean discs

Tissue is actually even worse. The best is to alwasy hold your dics this way:

That should keep the prints off. And when there is a fingerprint on it… just leave it there until your system is unable to read the disc. Then you can use those that kind of cloth they use for glasses. It really soft and works better than your dirty shirt. emoji

I'm playing Killzone SF, Watch Dogs, Uncharted and Sound Shapes.

So you got your PS4 then! I've played Shadow Fall as well. This was my first in the Killzone series. I don't like FPS shooters, but since this one had a really nice colorpalette, voice for main character and beautifull sci-fi feel I could enjoy it. It's a shame that most FPS shooters are mostly brown. I'm looking at you Resistance 3!

I'm almost done with Dark Void. There's a few glitches that made me backtrack a lot. The 'Knight' enemy sometimes leaves the level and never comes back. Another time I died, spawned the next cutscene as if I completed the mission. That resulted in finding part of the boss without colliders and reversed faces or something. Then when I started it all over and the boss spawned I got stuck in the boss and so on. Other than that still a really fun game and a hidden gem. emoji
