Here's a new question: how does one set up an avatar not from this site. I've tried, but it doesn't seem to want to work for me.
1. Click on the gears icon under My Profile at the top
2. Select edit your profile
3. Under forum profile in the Change your avatar box put the hyperlink to the picture you want to use as an avatar
It needs to be at most 200 x 200px in size or it won't work
