Qwark is a very well done character though. Unlike R&C, Qwark has gone through a lot of change and he sits on that line between hero and villain. I like that he was once a cowardly hero, who's hero days started being forgotten. With this he needed to live off of endorsement deals, until Drek and Ratchet bring him into the middle of a hero/villain fight. Unfortunately for Qwark he'd chosen the worng side (totally losing his ideas of what a hero was).
R&C2 just further developed him as a character who had lost his ideas of what was right and wrong. But luckily for him in R&C3 a former nemesis come back to make him look like a shining hero again. After working with Ratchet for a bit he figures out what he really needs to be a hero.
Qwark sucks off of Ratchet's adventures by trying to involve himself and sometimes actually helping. Ratchet knows this (because he's perfect), and is aware that Qwark just wants to be famous, but I feel that sometimes the relationship between the three of the heroes leads me to believe Qwark is actually doing it to help people.
His story of switching sides, and the lessons he's learnt really make him a worth character to talk about and remember. People just seem to hate Qwark because in ways he his a bad guy. But is he any worse than everyone's beloved Nefarious? Not even close.
