And, yes you did. But not completely! You would if Ratchet didn't say it himself in the trailer! Although how many people would be frustrated if after the movie they learnt that he wasn't a cat ( in case it wasn't mentioned and they were new to the franchise!).

There aren't actually any images of Nefarious in the book that you wouldn't have already seen. I could give you a clearer image, but if you want new images, you might want to ask Wildgirl in a little while. I believe she said she was also getting the reader, which should be packed with images.

I just bought the novel at a local book store, but I couldn't find the movie reader, so I'll probably have to special order it. Also, I haven't opened the book yet, since I want to see the movie first.
