Thread: The Jak and Daxter Thread

Well,I think Jak's design in Jak 3 was the best mainly because of his ripped off sleves, his armor(once you get it), and his hair. his hair looks like yellow fire with green fire at the bottom. His arms have some muscle in it,making him look kinda buff and strong, despite being only 18.And his personality makes him a likeable character. But the rest is still the same, except for a little dirty look.

But Jak 2's design was good, too. The long hair looked really good on him at that time.So did the clean clothes and his (now) new voice. emoji

Jak's design in Jak 3 was acceptable and cool. And you might be right about one thing Vox, he was pretty likeable in the game, except I thought some of the dialogue he said was pretty unnecessary.

I guess everyone goes for his look in the 3rd game because he look so dain sexy in that style. emoji

Jak 2 was amazing… really… I loved how free roaming it was (to an extent anyway) and how you could steal hover vehicles XD

JaD:The Lost Frontier was shocking. Never hand out your games to a crappy company, they really did kill it. I mean, it was fun, but it just didn't feel like JaD at all.

Jak 1 was the best. It has to be, I mean, it's the one that started it all XD I loved the cartoony style, and the colours were appealing to me, and it was really wacky.

Jak 3 was ok… but it was a bit too much having to ride vehicles and complete races, and I missed being able to run around.

I haven't played Jak X, but I have no interst in it for the moment. I watched the cutscenes on Youtube XD

I agree with you about Jak 2 and 3.Jak 2's missions mostly involved running around to the designated spot and destroy enemies with new guns, while Jak 3 on the other hand, involved too much vehicle riding and races and most of the missions you don't even get to use weapons that much.

But at least you still get to steal cars in Jak 3,but it's not that fun because the guards don't chase after you unlike in Jak 2.But if Jak 2 had more missions and weapon mods like in Jak 3,this game would be a miracle. emoji

I bought Jak X combat Racing, because I can play as Ratchet. BUT I have learnt there is a "Little" glitch. Can I select Ratchet with out damaging my memory card? emoji
And how does this glitch work?

Well I don't know any glitches that involves this situation but I did something that would make me play as Ratchet if you don't have a saved file of Deadlock in your memory card.

My cousin did had the game in his memory card and I saved a Jak X file in his Card. Then while the game was running, I switched to my memory card in the first slot and saved the file again. Then I was able to play as Ratchet on Jak X without having a Ratchet Deadlock saved file in my memory card. So far, it didn't had any damages or problems at all.

But to be on the safe side, find someone who has a PS2 or Ratchetemojieadlock and have a copied file of the game in your Memory Card if you're worried about your card going through some difficulties. Or if you're lucky, find a copy of Ratchet: Deadlock if you can to play as Ratchet in Jak X.

I have got Ratchet Deadlocked (Gladiator) in memory card file. I only worry if it will damage my memory card. I think you are from America, and that glitch is only on European games. emoji
Lucky man emoji

There is something about that glitch…

Damn, what happened with that link…. um… it is from wikipedia

I don't have Jak X so I don't know if it works… but I already have Deadlocked/Gladiator emoji and we use the Jak skin during Co-op play.

This may sound out of topic here, but it's quite related to the Jak series… Well, sort of.

When I watched American Pie 2 weeks ago (don't ask), I spotted Mike Erwin, also known as the voice of Jak, in the film. I heard from many on the net that he appeared in this film and surely, it was true. He played as a fast food cashier, even if his part was so short.

It's strange how a film that's so vulgar and inappropriate was one of Erwin's first performances in acting. emoji

I'm sure we can discuss the voice works of the characters in the Jak franchise too, right?

Lol really? I never knew that XD I dont think I ever watched that movie, or even remember much of it. But that is an interesting fact, nonetheless emoji

Hey everyone! you should check my Daxter drawing I completed today. It's just a basic one I did, hopefully anyone could like it and I am not really an artist.

It's also interesting how the voice casts in the Jak series go for a variety of performances when it comes to acting.

I remember being quite surprised when I spotted Cutter Garcia (the voice of Torn) in the end credits of Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time. He voiced as one of the Vullards in the game. :oui:

2 things Naughty Dog did better with J&D than Insomniac did with R&C:
-You can pause cutscenes, useful!
-day/night cycle, awesome!

The day and night cycle was pretty cool to see in the Jak series. Sometimes I think the Jak games feels like the Sony version of Legend of Zelda. Think about it…

- The day to night cycle changes in both franchises. Although, the 3D Zelda games had more the day/night cycle, which would only change in larger areas, never in towns and dungeons. The Jak series was a bit more robust and would change the day and night setting in any place.

- There are elf-ish like characters in both Jak and Legend of Zelda. The people in Jak have a more exaggerated style with really long ears, while the people in Zelda have a more medieval style that seems a bit like the typical elves.

- Both franchises have a bad a** protagonist and an obnoxious sidekick. Except in Zelda, Link's sidekick always changes. He had Navi in Ocarina of Time, Tatl in Majora's Mask and Midna in Twilight Princess. Jak on the other hand always had Daxter on his side since Precursor Legacy.

-You can roam in really huge areas with a use of transportation. In Jak, you have vehicles and hover bikes while in Zelda, you have your trusty horse Epona.

I think there might be more in comparison, but I could be wrong.

Also, the PSP game Daxter, set between The Precursor Legacy and Renegade actually looks good when blown up on a bigger screen unlike every other PSP game in existence!
