Thread: Returning villains

We all know Insomniac is not in it all with returning villains which is the reason why a few get owned or trapped on asteroids or something. However, now that Nefarious had returned, I think we can expect a few PS2 favorites in the Future. Yes, I really did want Drek to return, its too bad he's dead. The Thug Leader still alive, and it would be epic to see him in HD on the PS3, so why not him, besides it would be pretty easy to bring him back. Neffy already returned two times, and as much as I would love to see him return again, I would like to give other villains a chance, however, if Neffy appears in the comics, i'd love to see him in a few gag scenes. Gleeman Vox is dead, he blew up, so he can't return XD. Emperor Tachyon, well we didn't really see what happened to him, it was kinda hard to tell wheather he was killed of survived, so he's a possibility. And lets not forget the other villains that are still alive like Klunk and Ace, they could also return. So, what's your opinions on returning villains, you think Neffy was enough, you think we could just have cameos of old villains? What do you guys think.

But I do agree that Nefarious should have a rest for a while, but I don't mind seeing him or hearing of him now and then, for a laugh. But it's a real shame that ones like Vorselon never really had the chance to shine, though at least Tachyon did, for a bit but hmm… who knows? Maybe he did survive but I'm really not sure, since we haven't heard hinting his survival or not since then.

But as for the prisoner villians (Thug leader and Ace) well, Ace… to be he doesn't really seem to be a villain anymore and if they ever do bring him back, I hope he won't be a villain again since it'll just make people dislike him even more XD (and make his defeat seem pretty pointless… and his release from prison too) and I'm not really sure about the Thug leader, but I sorta imagine him as a side villain if he comes back, not really a main one. But him and all the other Thugs are still in prison, unless they escape somehow :p

I know. I feel so bad for Vorselon, but in a sense it is actually kinda poetic in a because he died like Drophyds die, their heads are crushed and splattered into blood, and we all know Vorselon hated the Drophyds, so yeah. Most villains are dead, but there are a few, actually more than you would think, that are still alive, like Nefarious, Courtney Gears, Klunk, Otto Destruct (he's alive, just has a monkey brain), Thug Leader, Captain Slag and Rusty Pete, and possibly Tachyon. Tachyon is sorta 50/50 as he fell into a black hole but has warping and Cragmite powers, and actually he hinted he would return remember "Only I know you true purpose in this galaxy. Only I know you true name!" Besides even if the emperor can't return as a main villain he could still appear in a cameo. Even if Tachyon's dead, what stops the Cragmites from returning? They are still alive just banished back to Reepor, so they could strike again when ready. Even Lord Vorselon said in the final battle "I'm about to make the Cragmites very jelious" So they are alive. And the Thugs are capeable of escaping prison, if a disembodied head, Lord Vorselon, can do it, than I really think the Thugs can. Ace, I always thought that he would return and team up with Ratchet, he could become a hero again.

And yeah, can't forget about the Space Pirates and Courtney Gears =P though Gears doesn't really seem to be that bad anymore, just digging for gold off whoever she can XD (like Reactor, but he's gone) and well yeah, I sorta imagine if Ace actually did appear again, he could help Ratchet out somehow, maybe not 'team up' but aid him somehow (sorta as a way to thank him for stopping his DZ ways and helping him escape it) that would be sweet =D

If that quote is true, we may see alot old freinds return, for example, I really miss the ol Q force, Big Al, Skidd, Helga, and even Scrunch would be nice to see again. Sasha I don't really think is a good idea, as with Sasha and Talwyn seeing eachother, and Ratchet liking them both, you know where gonna see some girl fights XD. So better off just sticking with Talwyn. Gears could still come back, as i'm sure she would still want revenge on Ratchet and Clank for making her lose her job, as said in Deadlocked, she was replaced by Skidd. The Thug Leader is a possibility, as i'm sure he would still be interested in seeing Ratchet and Clank get "rubbed out" as he says it. The main villain of the comics, we already know, is going to be Artemis Zogg, who, by the sound of his name, might in fact be a cool villain. Who knows, maybe Lawrence fixed Nefarious by now and they joined Zogg in his plan on taking every planet from every galaxy. Speaking of that, I wonder why Artemis is taking all the planets? I guess we'll just have to find out. Heres an idea I have about the comics and returning characters: Artemis Zogg is too powerful for just Ratchet & Clank to handle, so they called upon each of there friends, that including Qwark and Ace, to help him in this mess. Meanwhile, Artemis would be looking at Ratchet and Clank's history in the news papers, and would every villain from Ratchet past that is alive to help him. Imagine, it would be so EPIC!

I don't really know if I want to see another returning villain come into a later R&C game. With Nefarious' return it quite worked because he was a pretty menacing villain who wasn't defeated yet. It was a pretty big surprise that we saw him once again in the end of Quest for Booty and in A Crack in Time. Sure, it was great to see Dr.Nefarious in PS3 visuals who had the fun and B-Movie charm in him, but his plan felt kind of typical that was easily backfired near the end of the game.

As for the other villains, most of them would feel pretty pointless and out of the picture like the Space Pirates and the Thug-For-Less gang. And besides, I would move on with those group of baddies, especially the Space Pirates since the pirate trend should take a break at least, just like with Dr.Nefarious.

Some characters such as Courtney Gears and Ace Hardlight would have just moved on with their lives and perhaps changed their ways. They might not even be villains anymore, but then again, who certainly knows what those two are like these days.

Although, with his small structure and appearance, there could be some possibility that he could of made that if he would of fit through some cracks and corners on mountains of boulders and rocks.

As for Tachyon, he wasn't crushed by any boulder, he was seen falling to the camera (towards the abyss) and was sucked into the wormhole and a rock near where Ratchet and Clank were standing was starting to fall apart, besides, the emperor was still screaming when he fell into the wormhole, so no he wasn't crushed by anything. From what is confirmed by Insomniac, that wormhole was opened by the Dimensionator, and Tachyon fell into it. Now going to Dimensionator logic, it could have just transported him to another dimension, however, the dimensionator was malfuctioning when it opened the portal. Getting back to topic, I would really love to see a female main antagonist, she would have to be a kickass hottie with weapons.

I know what you mean, it really looked that way, and you may be right, but from what I saw, Tachyon fell into the portal, and a rock Ratchet and Clank were standing on was shown breaking apart. I'm sure if Insomniac wants him back they could come up with something, after all, I want to know Ratchet's true name If i'm right and Tachyon was warped somewhere than we may see him in the future if he didn't die. As for main female villain, next Ratchet game all the way.

Yes. I already said Ace should help Ratchet, and that it would just make people hate him more if he was a villain again. And I also agree with Tachyon, as Drek and Vox are dead, Qwark is not a baddy anymore, and Otto has monkey mind. The only main villains that can return are Klunk, Tachyon, Slag, and Nefarious. Klunk is a vaccum, though, but he did hint he would return, he blinked his eyes and glowed, so maybe Nefarious could help him or something. Tachyon is probabaly alive, most likely transported to another dimension. Slag could still get another body, however, as he was the villain in two games, give him a break. Same with Nefarious, they should give him a break too. I really want to see the Cragmites return, they were merely banished, perhaps if they ever get enough power again, they could strike again.

It would indeed be nice to see the chairman on PS3 in Hi-def, but sadly Drek is dead, however, we could still see him in flashbacks. I do like your thinking, however, when Drek was launched into his planet he was killed by that hard impact and crushed by his mech.

Yeah, it just isn't possible for him to survive and there hasn't been any hints of him surviving at all since his death so yeah… but he was a good villain while he lasted though.

But as Neffy said, there are always chances for him to be in flashbacks and such anyway :p but yeah, I'm still glad some survived, especially Ace it would be interesting to see Courtney again too after so long (one of the very few female villains, besides the Valkyries)

He was a great villain, but I would sure love to see him in flashbacks, no doubt. Many villains survived if you think about it, even the villains that went there seperate ways, like Ace, I still, however, think Courtney could still come back as a villain. By the way, any of you guys notice that in the Ratchet and Clank comic series thing with page 6 and 7, Insomniac said they were bringing back characters and villains due to fan service? If so, what do you think of this, I sure wonder if Tachyon has anything to do with this planet stealing thing other than Artemis.
