Yo, check out this demo someone made of Ratchet Deadlocked! It's a prototype, but it's still awesome!

 Nice! those reflections are insane!

Also, not R&C related, but Sony just showed off the PS5 boxart for Miles Morales - looks pretty good! Can't wait to see how Rift Apart's will look!

nice are you new Moon?
nice are you new Moon?

Well I used to visit the site a lot before the movie came out looking for news/leaks, but I never posted anything haha - I think that was before the site had a huge update so a lot of it is still new to me! How about you? filename8.png

before i didn't rlly have an account and just looked at the site but decided to sign up a couple months ago
I think Rift Apart is post Into The Nexus, what do you think

I believe it has been confirmed, yes. Someone uploaded the Ratchet and Clank gameplay trailer in 60 fps btw emoji

It was confirmed? Do you know where?

I might be wrong but I don't think Insomniac have officially stated what timeline RA follows just yet - although someone posted a tweet saying it's post-Nexus and Insomniac liked it, which would be weird if that was incorrect haha, someone posted the screenshot on page 5 of this thread filename1.png

Also Geoff Keighley just did a hands-on demo of Astro's Playroom to show off the new Dualsense controller - not a whole lot was really shown (although AP looks kinda neat though, Rescue Mission was really underrated imo) There was also an interview with Eric Lempel, the worldwide head of marketing at Playstation, where they actually talked a bit about Rift Apart!

Here's a link to the stream if anyone missed it, Geoff mentions Ratchet right at the 30 minute mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXl1vRD_lUk

E: "You take a great developer like Insomniac, and they found a way to say 'okay look, here's a game that could only be made on Playstation 5, on this generation, using this technology.' A lot of what you saw during the show, jumping through different worlds instantly, just can't be done in most cases. It needs new hardware, it needs new power, so that's something we're looking forward to."

G: "So that Ratchet game, like, couldn't be done on PS4, I guess if you did it you'd have to fundamentally change the kind of architecture and the gameplay of it?"

E: "You would have to change it! You would have to change the way the game works - it would be a different experience. According to everything Insomniac has told us, this hardware allows them to deliver on this vision. They could not make it - if they did, it would just be different. You'd be playing a different type of game."

A lot of this seems to be the usual promotional stuff, but it's still nice to hear a tiny bit more about Rift Apart - Geoff also seems to have those R&C Creaturebox vinyls behind him during the show, I think he's one of us! filename9.gif

Very cool, Moon! Insomniac posted this on their twitter lol

Also, new poll is up! Apologies for not putting "Nether armor" in the list--I just assumed no one would choose it.

The 4th (and for now, last) episode of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is finally here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcZqbJiL7EM

cool

@Tomkcreative made this pretty amazing banner for Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.

One thing I wanted to mention that kinda worries me is that the weapons appear to be in "lockstrafe" mode. When Ratchet uses any of his weapons, they always point directly to the screen, and Ratchet always is strafing while using them. Now, maybe this was used for gameplay-presenting purposes, but I do like being able to freely switch between strafing normally and free-firing.

Today, Insomniac Games announced that SpiderMan PS5 will have an optional 4k/60fps mode! The bigger question is, will Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart have the same? I certainly hope so!

And if that is the case, which mode will you prefer more? 4k or 60fps?

Remind me, were any other recent games locked into strafing? I sincerely cannot remember.

I think FFA and ITN were the only two games that did this aside from (Deadlocked, as it was a different gameplay style). RaC PS4 had the option to lock-strafe, but it also returned to the classic gameplay style of shooting any which way, which works out great for flamethrowers. I'm hopeful that there will be an option for it emoji
