Love Spyro, probably my favorite PS1 game of all time.
Has anybody seen the texture mods recently introduced? Someone by the name of LXShadow made a tool for the original Spyro series that allows this. People are starting to make some really cool stuff.

Nice. I had no idea Autumn Plains could look so cool at night. I may give these a try when I replay Spyro 2.

People have made some cool stuff. You can download their texture packs and load them into the game, it's fairly easy.
