Thread: Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction Cutscene Problems

Hi, I recently got Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction and I have the 320 GB Slim PlayStation(R) 3 console, when game plays it runs perfect, but when the cut scenes play the picture sticks at certain points and the audio keeps on playing perfectly fine. I have checked the Blu-Ray disc and there are no problems with the disc. Is anyone else having these problems? if so, do you know of a way to solve it? it has been doing it on my system since I got the game and when I took the game round my mates and played it on his PlayStation(R) 3 system, it did the same thing and again there were no problems with the disc. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

No, not really. Sorry.
I do sometimes have the proble that the cutscene works perfectly fine, but the audio is muted or there is no audio at all. I think that there is some miniscule flaw on your disc's surface. So I guess its either watching the cutscenes on YouTube or get yourself a new disc.

I have looked in CEX and a new copy of Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction is over £10 and I got mine from a friend who sold their PlayStation(R) 3 system, I checked the disc for flaws and there were no marks or dust on the disc, it is still in mine condition after almost a year of having my console and game disc, it has been doing it since day one of having my system and I have been unable to find the cause of it, even when I tried a new disc it still did the same thing, I am beginning to wonder if it is just my system that it doesn't like or if it is me that it doesn't like because when my friend plays the game, it works perfectly fine.

Thanks

Thats a bit odd indeed…
I recall one time I had something similar. With a Wii game. It was brand new from the store, but it didn't work. But when the store owner took ik back home it worked just fine on his Wii. After that it did at min too, never figured out what was wrong after that.
I hate to say it, but there might be something wrong with your PS3 then. I doubt that both discs have invisible damage. emoji

All i can thinks of doing is getting a new disc and ps3 and trying them both, Il will let you know what happens.

Thanks for your help.

Try a new disc first - cheaper emoji but its an odd problem and not one I've come across

I have every ratchet and clank game that has been released and this is the only one that i have been having problems with. I will see if i can borrow my friends copy and see if it does the same

Thanks

Oh, I thought you said you already tried a new disc.
My guess is that there is some damagie to the disc, invisible to the human eye. You can get cleaning kits in a 'dumbstore' or maybe a mall. But buying a 2nd hand of eBay might be your best guess for now. Even cleaning a disc doesn't always work..
