I love Bebop, its a very well-deserved classic! When I was younger my favorite of the crew was Ed, but now I think I have a hard time choosing between Jet and Faye. They're all great though.
I actually love tuning in to Deep Space Jams in ACiT because I get a very Cowboy Bebop-esque feel cruising through space with smooth jazz playing in the background.
I found Faye to be a total ***** until Session 24 (or something like that), so I honestly didn't like her for most of the time.
I can't pick between Ed (or Françua) and, like you, Jet.
And yes, Bebop's soundtrack is AMAZING! My personal faourites being the opening theme Tank, the ending music for Session 26 (which I don't remember the name of) and Rain.
I enjoyed Faye's personality for the entire show, but it was really nice to see her backstory later on, it gave a lot of insight to her character. I know Spike's got his baggage too but I think Faye is probably the most complicated and interesing, at least to me. The entire cast was so human and real.
Oh the song you're thinking of is Blue, I love that one too. I don't know if I can pick a favorite track, but I'm really partial to The Real Folk Blues, Call Me Call Me, Wo Qui Non Coin, and Go Go Cactus Man, hehe.
