Thread: Pretty Random Movie Thread

Don't worry too much if critics give the movie bad reviews, after all their opinion can be very different compared the audience's reaction. Coincidentally, NC made a video on this subject: When Are Critics Wrong?

That was an interesting video. But still, that 0 out of 100 score seems ridiculous for me. Hope I'm not among the haters after I watch the movie, because the game is good so far.

Shouldn't they compare Drek to Bernie Sanders, because they're both socialists?
Anyhoo, I'm-a seeing the movie today…hopefully in the 3D…probably not…but I'll be sure to write a review of it soon (along with the Ps4 game). :oui:

I've seen a review say the movie "feels like watching your older brother play a Ratchet & Clank game in a very boring way", so I guess that's why reviewers are praising the game but aren't big fans of the film.

in my opinion the film was amazing, but i feel like there could have been more done

Just seen the film. I don't think you all want to know what my opinion is.

i think it could have added a few more planets in the story for the movie

C'mon, you can't say stuff like that. Now I want to know what your opinion is.

Its not a great opinion. I don't think I enjoyed as much as everyone else here. I did enjoy it. But I only enjoyed it purely because it was Ratchet and Clank on the big screen plus there was plenty of fan service to keep me entertained and that's the problem. If this were a movie I went into without knowing Ratchet and Clank I would've hated it. I hardly found any of the gags funny (the Willhelm gag was the only one I properly laughed at, the rest I laughed at were just dry chuckles), There was some choppy editing and lip-sync in multiple scenes, We hop from location to location without slowing down to develop the worlds and characters. But my biggest gripe was that I felt the focus was too far away from Ratchet and Clank we never stop to develop their friendship. At the end when it comes to them parting ways I felt I wasn't as invested as I should've been. (that was also my biggest gripe from the new game, but I figured the movie would solve that). I feel I only enjoyed the movie because it was Ratchet and Clank on the big screen.

Sorry if you don't like or agree with my opinion. I just felt this movie had the potential to do more. But it never quite delivered.

No need to apologize. I mainly asked because I haven't watched the film yet, and I wanted to get an idea of what to expect. Those are some valid complaints you listed, though. I was kind of expecting it to be that way based on the other reviews I've read as well.

Ok, so I'm trying to avoid anything anyone else has posted on here about the movie for now as I feel that I have been spoiled enough and have yet to see it, but just wanted to let everyone know that our local Catholic Radio Station did a review this morning and gave it a pretty positive review. Now, if anyone wants details, I didn't hear it on the radio myself, but my dad works at the station and he was telling me this earlier. Can't wait to see it, but alas, I have to wait until Sunday as my friend was unable to go today and I have to work tomorrow.

Just saw the film, it was lovely emoji

Just got back from watching the film with some friends. It was okay. When it comes to movies, I'm a stickler for the story and character development, and the movie did seem pretty lacking in that regard. Also, for a movie that's based off a game that's known for its crazy arsenal, there was a surprising lack of action that I've come to love from the games. It does crank up the action during the final parts, so that was nice. The humor was a little hit or miss as well, but, when it hit, it hit hard a couple times. I had a good time watching it, but I can't help but feel like there was some lost potential.

Rosario Dawson and Sylvester Stallone were the best new voice actors. Period. Come at me.

A lot of children in the theater, but at least one was recognizable!
