Are you fond by this appearance, or do you just despise it?
Many people or fans have different views and opinions when they see Japanese Ratchet. Whether it is the big flat eyebrows or the high pitch voice.
Here are a couple of pictures comparing the difference between Ratchet's North American look and his Japanese design. 
Wow, to be honest, those modifications look pretty awful o_O I mean, yeah I already knew the Japanese did their version of Ratchet with the big black eyebrows and 'shinier' eyes (and in fact, it looks fine when they do it with their own Ratchet drawings/models)
But simply editing the 'normal' American version of Ratchet… it just looks bad XD if he was remade from scratch in the Japanese style, then he would be alright but I'm guessing the Insomniacs had to add those changes and simply wouldn't have time to remake the whole model, and as long as the Japanese fans like it, then it wouldn't matter much XD

I don't really adore the Japanese style of Ratchet either, but I could see why the flat black eyebrows, the big shiny pupils and the pitchy voice were added in his design in the Japanese version. I heard these features were just added so that it can appeal to the Japanese audience.

I do agree. Commander Amarao's eyebrows are too squared and distracting to look at. Plus his eyebrows comes off of his face too.

Commander Amarao: -1 (marks are deducted for his eyebrows coming off his face and such)
Well, at least they're not like Fake Crash's eyebrows XD (another Japanese creation)
But yeah, I really dont like that look Ratchet has neither… it looks too out of place for him, especially on that character model.

I Mean His Voice Is So starnge I saw the trailer In japanese And he Doesnt Look normal…In Ratchet And Clank Games 1-3 Go Down to the Left Hand side And thats the Japanese Case its also Strange
Makes me wonder why only Ratchet looks different, most of the other characters look the same in their work/versions XD even on their Deadlocked site, only Ratchet has a freaky expression with weird eyebrows and eyes, while everyone else looks the same.
I don't like the Japanese version !
he frighten with its large black eyebrows and these eyes are strange, his green pants it's cool and for his voice and I don't know, I've never heard !
