Thread: The Rayman Thread

Deleted user

In this thread, just talk and discuss anything about the Rayman franchise, including the latest co-op game Rayman Origins.

What got me into making a topic like this? Well let's just say after playing Rayman 3 (aka my first game to try out from the series), I'm starting to become quite a fan of the Rayman games.

Uh Rayman 3… First REAL game I ever played (with the exception of Pacman, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Sims and other ancient arcade games) I played this game for about a week before R&C3 pushed into my life, when we brought a PS2 we got Pacman Rally (I dunno if I played this before Rayman 3 or after?) Ratchet & Clank 3 and Rayman 3! Skip foward like seven years and I still can't beat Andre!.. Wait? Can I? Haven't played in like a year or two! BRB! Nah kidding, I don't own It anymore… emoji

I have this game, and I used to play it all the time when I was younger.

I don't know if I have all of the Rayman games though…

The only Rayman game I ever had was Rayman Raving Rabbids on PS2.

Yeah, it didn't take.

But I am very interested in the upcoming Rayman Origins, the UbiArt Framework looks spectacular.

I absolutely agree. The art direction and framework in Rayman Origins does look amazing so far. That is another Rayman/Co-op title I wouldn't mind getting for my gaming collection.

All I need now is to look for a copy of Rayman 2 and we'll call it even. It will not be too difficult to find a copy of Rayman 2 just because there's so many ports of this particular Rayman game unless it's for the older consoles like the Sega Dreamcast, PS1 and N64. Everyone says it's one of the best Rayman games ever, so I'm quite curious to know if I will have the same praise as everyone else who had played it.

Let me check that out through google.

Well I'll be damned, it is available for the PSN. Normally I'm a little hesitant to purchase downloadable games on the PS3, so I don't know if I wanna get the game through there. However, maybe once I finally decide to fix my internet connection for the PS3 (and hopefully it works), then there's a chance that I will purchase the game through there. Although I am not that eager to get it right away just because I wanna save up my money for other things.

Rayman Origins is out now, and it's supposedly gotten a lot of excellent reviews.

Anyone got it or gonna get it?

I only tried the demo so far and it was amazing. It's definitely going to be put into my Christmas wishlist this year. And if I don't get it, there's always the next day on Boxing Day.

Oh by the way, Rayman 3 is going to come out for the PSN and XBLA in Spring 2012:

I have the same plan emoji

Rayman 3 on PS3? Nice, another classic PS2 game that I never played for me to get on PS3.

I'm hoping to get Rayman Origins for christmas.

I first heard about Rayman when my brother rented the Rayman Raving Rabbids when we were both young and before I heard about Youtube. Didn't like it at all which lasted till last year.

Last year, I met a DA artist name fizzreply and read her crossover comics that has Rayman in it (side note: she was also the one who introduce me to the Sly Cooper series and the Ratchet and Clank series). After reading her comic, I began to take intrest in Rayman.

After looking through Rayman videos on Youtube and did a bit of reaserch on him, I began to like him alot. I never played any of the games, I'll admit, but the three games I like from the series was Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc and Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge. I also seen the animated series and I did enjoy watching it.

Still hate those Rabbids with all of my heart and soul

rayman was the first video game i ever got and it was 1 of the only 3 i got for the ps1 because its all i needed to play (madden1995 and aaa dodgeball) so i cant wait for its definitly going to be a challenge
it took me forever to beat demo so i cant wait for 60+ levels

My story's similar to Rai9867's. My first real foray into the series was Rayman Raving Rabbids, and I was disappointed; not because it deviated from the series' usual genre, but because I was expecting the action adventure game that it was originally going to be instead of the party game that it became. Also, the one I got was for PS2, so it killed my thumbs a bit.

I only really got into Rayman after the news of Rayman Origins, and just a few weeks back I got Rayman 1 from the PSN. And it's so friggin' hard!

how much does rayman 1 cost on psn

The Australian price is $8.45, which is about the same in US dollars. If it doesn't cost that, it'll probably be whatever the standard US price for PSN PS1 games is.
