Thread: Which Nefarious Scheme is More Threatening?

WARNING!

This thread may contain MAJOR SPOILERS from Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal and Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time.

Turning living life forms into robot or using time travel to make villains victorious over the heroes?

(Tell me the one from A Crack in Time is correct since it has been months I played that game)

Pick which Nefarious scheme sounds more threatening and explain why it is superior than the other? I'm sure people will have different answers and explanations to make this thread very exciting.

you are right about the PS3 one.

I think the PS2 one was best! It was very original and creative (I don't care if Sonic or someone else has done it, time travel is just so old now)

This deserves a poll.

Golly, that's a hard one.

Both plans would be pretty depressing if successful. Out of a total robot population and domination of villains over heroes, I gotta sleep on it.

up ur arsenals because if he successed it was over in crack in time
he might have went back in time and lost

Considering how powerful Nefarious was… and how powerful everyone was back in say… R&C1, I would bet Nefarious has a good chance of VICTORY!

Really the ACiT plan is much more serious and severe than the UYA one, because all Nefarious wanted to do was turn everyone into mindless zombie robots. Then in ACiT I'm sure he'd just eradicate all the squishies.

I would say that the scheme in A Crack in Time would have been much worse because if I could choose between being turned into a robot or possibly facing armageddon, I would rather be turned into a robot. After all, time travel could destroy the entire universe, where as if everyone is turned into robots, at least the universe is still in tact.

Yes, but Nefarious probably didn't know that control over time would destroy the universe.

he did after Ratchet mentioned it to him.

Ratchet - "Nefarious, you can't use the clock. Nothing you could want is worth risking the universe."

Nefarious - "Oh, but there is."

It is definitely the one in A Crack In Time. As others have said, turning everyone in one galaxy into robots (I realize he may have planed to move to others to do the same)is nothing compared to having the antagonists throughout history always win, or worse, disrupting the balance of time and the universe, which is actually a very BIG deal for a Ratchet and Clank game. But whether Nefarious got his desired result from tampering with the clock or not it would have been chaotic either way.

if the clock worked like that it would make for a line up of pretty awesome games! Fixing all the damage Nefarious is causing. Could keep the series going a little longer (a bit more than FOREVER! emoji )

Do explain.

Do explain.

Let's say Nefarious went back and found say… Captain Darkstar! He teams up with old Darkstar and helps him with his Qwark problems, so it's up to Ratchet, Clank and Qwark (who doesn't know R&C) to stop Darkstar! That should make for a game on it's own, then another involving Drek, maybe Nefarious could take Qwark's place, but this would mean Qwark becomes forgotten. So Ratchet teams up with Qwark to stop Nefarious and Drek.

After stopping Drek (or maybe failing to stop Drek) Qwark gets no fame and fortune, and is lost forever. This becomes a problem for Ratchet and Clank (knowing what happened last time), so they head to Bogon and search for Qwark, maybe finding that Nefarious had teamed up with the Thugs, they may fail to stop the Thugs, or succeed. And then head back to Solana to find Qwark has gotten his reputation back (maybe he finished of Drek or some other bad guy, depending on what happens to Drek in the end of the first one)

Then Nefarious teams up with Vox industries, and spreads across the whole of Solana, making a show for the entire Universe to see, heroes and villains battling it out for the Galaxy! Then Ratchet puts a stop to this once and for all (by stopping Vox and Nefarious and the other villains hired by Vox and Nefarious. (lets shove Slag and Tachyon in there) and it all ends right where we were at the end of ACiT emoji

I just came up with that on the spot, and obviously limiting myself to the villains introduced by Insomniac Games. So imagine what Insomniac could do with the idea! With all new villains they could introduce in the past, and maybe going back even before Darkstar! The possibilities are endless. Sure the possibilities are endless with the end of ACiT the way it was, but this way could have been exciting still.

And many fans might be happy that Qwark gets completely re-made emoji (not looking like a complete A-hole this time)

I see what you mean now.
But, for me personally, Quark would have to have a lot of redeeming qaulities for me. Just me.

But it's a completely different Qwark! This one is all hero emoji

However I do understand, if I were in Ratchet's position and got brought back in time to the start of it all, I too would be careful about Qwark, he's a bit unpredictable. (which is why at that point Ratchet goes to Polaris to ensure he didn't do anything stupid emoji

I just thought of another reason why Nefarious's plan to turn everyone into robots wouldn't be as bad as it looks: We wouldn't have to deal with medical issues. Needles, I.V.'s, being hospitalied, disease, blood work, etc. That would make me very happy to not worry about those things in the future.
