Thread: PS3 SOS

Hi guys! Hope someone can help me with this.

My PS3 just got internet access, but now all the game I owned before then say I can't use the save game on there. So I have to start a new one on just about all my games!

I LOST MY ACIT SAVE FILE! WITH GOLD BOLTS, ARMOR, RYNO AND ALL!!!!! AND A4O, AND TOD, AND ALL MY OTHER GAMES!!! ARGH!!

Please help! I really want this fixed!

Omg, that's my biggest fear since it happen with my GC memorycard! Really want to know what the source of this was so I can prefent it for overcoming me.

I have a few buddies that know a lot about game consoles, I'll send them a message and see what they can do! emoji

Oh, thank you! You know its time to freak out when even the guys at Gamestop DON'T EVEN KNOW!!!!!emoji

I honestly don't know. I got it a few years ago from my dad when I moved out of his place. So I don't know if it's updated or not. I cn try, though

CRAP IT DIDN'T WORK!!! emoji( I honestly think this thing is getting a little too old to work anymore… emoji

hmm, ok, have the games been updated before you tried to play them? (seeing as you're connected to the internet now) it should have asked to update them when you put in the game

should have looked something like this:

One buddy sugests to put the save date on a USB and download it back to your PS3 again. It's a longshot, he's not in to the newer systems that much.

Using a flash drive wouldn't work. Something to do with copyright crap, if one is to back it up, it's best to use Playstation Plus and re-download it. As for the saved data being corrupt, I've had something similar or close to similar. I downloaded a gamesave from Gamefaqs.com for A Crack in Time and when I went to load it, it came up and said something along the lines of it not being my saved game and that I wasn't able to use it and for some stupid reason, when I copied it over, it corrupted all of my other saved data for A Crack in Time. I did the same thing for Tools of Destruction and the game save file worked fine. As for it corrupting the saved data after finally getting an internet connection, sounds like when you originally played the game, you couldn't run any updates for the game when you first popped it into the drive and now it probably wants to run updates for the game and the updates probably aren't compatible with the original saved data. But I would try like RevanAC said and see if you can run updates on the game itself and see if it works and if not, then as far as I know you're probably going to end up having to start completely over. Sorry.

aww, fine. And yes, that menu did come up to update the game, Revan. So I did. And no different. But aw well. No one died, I guess… emoji

Damn, well seeing as you have nothing to lose now, get a USB Memory stick, put it in the PS3, copy all the save games onto it, Delete the saves off the PS3 (but put the USB into a computer and check that they're all actually on it before you do), delete the game file too (this is separate from the save files, should be under the 'Game Files' option), then turn the PS3 off and on again, re-install the game, then transfer them back on, then put in and play the game, but when the update screen comes up, press circle (back) and it'll skip the update and let you play normally, check then to see if the saves work, if that doesn't work I'm afraid there's not much else I can think of

Well, funny story, actually. Day or two ago, I was loading some artwork on the thumb drive I had from years ago. Wake up today, CAN'T FIND IT! I honestly think my kitten might've stolen it…I dunno. Gotta buy a new one, I suppose…lost a lot of stuff since I moved, matter of fact…emoji

But thanks for the ideas, everyone! emoji
