You can do it wirelessly or wired, it's quite easy to do.
If you're going wired, plug the ethernet cable (you can buy these from computer stores) into the connector on the PS3 and the other into your internet hub/box. Then boot up the PS3 and go to settings -> network connections. Follow the on screen instructions.
Wireless is much the same, but obviously you don't need the cable. Boot the PS3 up, make sure your wireless internet box is on, then go settings -> network connections. Follow the on screen instructions but you'll need to know the ID or name of your box e.g Sky***** etc and the password. Put those in and it should be plain sailing.
I'm assuming you have a PSN account, if not you'll need to set one up before you can play online games. A4O requires a PSN pass key (which came with the game). Put that in the redeem codes section of the PSN store to get to the online play.

Sorry I didn't see the replies before. We can find out. It might be a problem with the different timezones, but if we had a proper chatting/messaging system it would be easier.
Also, who's who? I mean who is Ratchet? Who's Clank? And so on. I would like to be Neffy 
i prefer ratchet but will play as clank, i have a friend that will play he likes quark. Do you have a blutooth headset?

I'm also Neffy! But I'll play as someone else.
I might be able to find some time to play.
I tend to play as Neffy. I love the laser elbow blades, the cloaker and he gets some of the best lines. But otherwise Ratchet, then Clank.
Don't know about timezones with everyone else, but I'm in the UK. PSN ID: Troutbridge.
