This still doesnt answer my question on whether it will require a gyroscope, the iPhone 3GS doesnt have one, and that will just be excluding other people who dont have the iPhone 4 and up

Most IOS exclusives don't require Gyroscope.

Well, if it does require Gyroscope, get an Android, there're really good Android phones that cost about 50 bucks.

No but really Android is great. I mean iOS isn't (likely to be) bad, it's just that I've never had the fortune of having a wallet full enough to touch iOS.
As for BTN, I HIGHLY doubt they'll have any Gyro nonsense because as said in the article "Swipe across the touchscreen to leap from rail to rail and avoid obstacles". Therefore I would like to put out the theory that you swipe to change tracks and it would be more like Subway surfers than Temple run as far as controls go. Shooting probably requires a tap of the screen or something.
