Thread: Really Random thread

The face is hiding something… and why do other countries keep eating pies which aren't filled with mince? I can confidently say I've never personally known another physical person to eat any other type of pie… except my mum, but she is strange and eats funny things.

Amsterdam's got spacecake. You want that? I walk by various stores that sell them everyday. emoji

I think I'll be fine without that… experience.

On a random note: I just got done watching 'Dumb and Dumber To', and I feel really dumb after watching that movie… not as good as the first, at all. And I can't even remember the first one.

Yesterday I watched The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and it seemed pretty alright. There was a bit too much hugging and blabbering on about "hope" for my liking though.

Just whisper the words when you change your mind!

I've never changed my mind before, why start now.

Sadly, that might be true.

I'll try something…

Wii U > PS4

There really is no use trying that one. I've never found many Nintendo games that appealing, and I can tell you it wasn't about the graphics. It's just what I've come to know, and how my tastes have adapted for the PlayStation environment. All the games I grew up with, and grew into were PlayStation games (by chance). I'm always willing to try new things, and I have done, but the Wii U jut does not enthrall me the way it does many others.

EDIT: It is nice having good looking games, and your screenshot looks nice and all, but I'm going to need a lot more than that to switch sides… not like I don't respect the Wii U of course :oui:

I get ya. I grew up with Nintendo, but during the 2nd half of the Wii's lifetime I stopped and moved to the PlayStation 2. Super Mario Galaxy was (and is) a great game. I was super excited for the sequel and it suuuuuucked. It was too easy, uninspired levels, too short and predictable. This is what all Nintendo games turned out to be. No challenge and more simple copying. The Nintendo I like (with the red logo) died a long time ago. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Except when they make Majora's Mask 3D, Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, Splatoon, Yarn Yoshi, Zelda A Link Between Worlds and Star Fox U.

I feel wrong for saying this, but I wen't to a friends house once and experienced the entire Nintendo thing then and there. We played Mario 1 and 2 on the NES, and he had a bunch of other games, most pretty Japanese and obscure. We had genuine awesome fun, and there were those moments where t seemed nothing was going to work, until to wiggle things about and blow through everything.

Then we played the Wii, and while I got good at the NES Mario Games, the Mario games here just felt wrong and… tired actually. We then played a version of Smash Bros. for N64 and I got destroyed in every round except one, but that was just because I was spamming a move on this one character, and pissing everybody off. They were arguing, and trying to figure out who the pink guy wrecking everyone so unfairly was to which I replied along the lines of "I NEED TO WIN SOMETHING SOMEHOW!".

So the NES was awesome, the N64 showed some promise, although I was not in the zone, and the Wii just felt tired. I know these conclusions are pretty harsh considering I only played 1 or 2 games per platform, but they seem like reasonably acceptable statements to me…

I know Nintendo have their good games here and there, and although I never got into them (or played any of them) I accept that games like Ocarina of Time may very well be the greatest games of all time, sure. But personally I will always stand by PlayStation, because games like inFamous, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted and Metal Gear have always meant more to me… and let's be honest, Metal Gear and Nintendo have had poor history. emoji

Well, not really the entire Nintendo thing, but I guess it'll do.
In my opinion, the SNES is probably the best thing to have ever come out of Nintendo. There are simply too many good games on it.

The Gamecube is also pretty cool. Despite its significant lack of games, what it does have is pretty great.

And of course, the Wii U is great too. It doesn't rely on gimmicks as much as the Wii did, in fact they almost always give you the option of using a traditional controller instead of the Gamepad.

I'd recommend watching Matthew's Mario reviews. They truly are great games!
(Also, Heather, I find Mario Galaxy 2 to be significantly harder than Galaxy 1. The power ups are way better too).

I might try and get a few old Nintendo games someday and give them a try. But for now I have more than enough to catch up with on Assassin's Creed (PS3) and a bunch of PS4/Vita games.

EDIT: Oh and now I have Peace Walker HD as well, so there is that too :oui:

Come to think of it, I think my first game system was actually the N64… I remember liking Bomberman 64 and Banjo-Kazooie at the time. I later got a PlayStation, but I still liked the N64 until PS2 came out and had games like Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, and of course, Ratchet & Clank. Though the first PlayStaion did have Spyro, which was also made by Insomniac.

Since PS2, PlayStation has been my gaming platform of choice. emoji

True fact: PlayStation 2 was the best-selling video game console of all time.

My first console was the PS1. I remember playing War of the Worlds, it was pretty fun (and depressing) to fight robots using vehicles. But now it's dead. I also joined the Playstation side after getting a PS2. And about Nintendo, I have two Gameboy Advances, which don't work properly anymore

Star Fox U.

StarFox is my favorite gaming series, but I'm not that excited for the new one. Nintendo is developing it while my favorites (Adventures and Assault) were developed elsewhere. I don't have enough faith, I think they're going to screw it up. But I still got a Wii U for it. emoji

Galaxy 1 took me a very long time to get all 242 stars. I beat Galaxy 2 once as Mario in a week and then put the disc back in the case. I gave it several more chances, but I can't like it.

Yeah, but Mario Galaxy 1 has loads of padding when going for 100% Completion.
About 1/3 of the stars are from those comets that just add an extra gimmick to an existing level. Let's not forget Gold Leaf Galaxy…
Not to mention that you have to play the entire game twice in order to technically complete it. And for what? Another Purple Coin mission!
Galaxy 2's difficulty is much more natural. Levels are actually challenging and stuff. Not to mention that one week is still an extremely long time for a game. Usually I can complete a game in 3 or 4 days.
