I like Ratchet and Qwark. Clank, once again, not so much.

It's interesting that Clank usually avoids major changes in his design (in A4O they just resized his parts). Even though it's my least favourite Clank design (egghead!) it's still my favourite of all three movie designs. Ratchet's evolution from a selfish teenager to everyone's favouritre cute, heroic pet continues. I suppose they'll have to make Ratchet a smart, brave, responsible and heroic Lombax at the start, screwing up his original identity. As for Qwark, he lost his last bits of akwardness - I suppose he paid for a plastic surgery to become one of Hollywood's handsome super-stars. Unfortunately, (as usual) plastic surgery failed. There is also a major flaw in all the designs - they miss the games's cartoonish charm, that Insomniac/Creaturebox touch. Despite technically movie is indeed stunning, Insomniac Games handeled character design much better. This just doesn't feel like a 'real' Ratchet & Clank to me (A4O did )
Did a little research and it turns out that Clank picture from David Kaye's twitter is NOT from a movie, it's just really nicely rendered ItN design:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!![]()
The fact it was made by Insomniacs explains why it looked good to me

I'm going to be completely honest, and say that I actually was thinking that it was not from the movie, but concept art for A4O.
EDIT: i don't want to stray too far from the topic but… could you imagine what would happen if creaturebox got their hands on that Ubiart engine!?

It's interesting that most of Creaturebox's concept art was made for A4O…
EDIT
Ubiart what?
EDIT 2
Oh, the Ubi-art, Rayman. Whoah, that would be impressive.

Eh. I missed Qwaark's Buttchin. It was even mentioned in UYA(RC3). Honestly, I thought it was a glorious, defining feature of him.

I still stand by Ubi-art as the better option for Insomniac's artists. The transition to 3D just doesn't cut it. Imagine those explosions animated in 2D. Incredible.
Creaturebox is simply what the IG artists call themselves. The reason why the A4O art is the most common art you'll see from them is because it's the most recent full-sized Ratchet & Clank game that IG have made.
Creaturebox should have took the art lead in Rainmaker
Ratchet's smile over the years

Yeah… That's kinda bad. It also seems like instead of Qwark, Nefarious will be Drek's partner and Qwark will just tag along with Ratchet and Clank.
Now officially addicted to League of Legends.
Send help.
