I'd say that his portrayal in the first game was much more realistic.

It's the one aspect of him that stayed true throughout the series.
I've never liked the idea of Ratchet having a set age. And especially not 15! In my eyes he's 'mature' and ageless otherwise.
As long as Ratchet is still Ratchet.
