I play video games to be relaxed and to distance myself from reality. If I'm killing and shooting people in a game with graphics pretty much identical to real life, I'd feel uncomfortable to say the least.
Of all the video games to be movies I think Uncharted is the one game that would benefit least from doing that.
I feel the appeal of the games comes with the 'interactive movie' feel it has. Taking the 'interactive' out of it leaves it about as original as every other action-packed highly-funded adventure movie.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Uncharted games for what they are, but I feel a series like inFamous or even Jak and Daxter would be more deserving of a movie… that's funny because of Sly Ratchet and Jak I always thought Jak would make the better movie (we're talking PS2 here) but it's the only one that hasn't been announced.

Graphics aren't everything you know? Just because a game looks identical to real life doesn't mean it is identical to real life. If we want a game loosely grounded by reality like The Last of Us, Uncharted, Metal Gear and inFamous it helps to have really realistic graphics.
Eeeeh. Even though I think the Uncharted games are some of the best titles on the PS3, I always felt like the Jak and Daxter had much better writing and story than thise games (Marlowe…
But I don't think Jak and Daxter really works as a movie, mostly because the games are mission based and many of the missions are filler, so they'd have to take about 75% of the game out in order for it to fit into an hour and a half movie.

That's part of my point. There is a lot to rip out of these games, and they can be sped-up without loosing much detail in the plot. In things like Ratchet & Clank taking stuff out would just mess up the plot, so it will have to be manipulated and warped into a similar but different story. Jak and Daxter could have a movie that stays completely true to the games really easily.
Actually the biggest problem I could see would be the transition between TPL and Jak II. Either the first game needs to get a bit darker (I'd support this) or the second game needs to get lighter, which it sorta does. I mean in this game Jak is completely unreasonably pissed all the time… well most of the time anyway. Then we jump forward to Jak 3 and he's still dark and serious, but not nearly as violent and pissed off as we saw him in the second.
Oh and it helps if you consider the missions more like quests, and imagine each one being a cinematic journey that tests Jak's abilities with all sorts of crazy cinematic camera angles and stuff.

I have already had a discussion about this, but maybe they could make the first game an intro to the movie. It'd fit considering the only thing you really need from the first game in order to understand the others is the ending (they don't even explain Jak's "uncle"
Also, I think that if you were to spend years in prison being tortured with Dark Eco you'd be a little pissed too. At least until the people who did that to you are all dead.

That's different. Today's games, while pretty graphically heavy, are still distinguishable from real life. The torture scene in GTA V doesn't bother me at all because none of the characters look real.
Or maybe it's nor really the graphics that make a difference, because the first episode of The Walking Dead Season 2 gave me quite the chills. Mainly when Clementine is stitching her arm.
The end of MGSV was tragic and a bit gory, yea. The life-like-ness of it just strengthened the effect it was supposed to have.
Fun fact: I am a big wimp when it comes to horror films, I can't stand them. But scary and gory videogames don't phase me nearly as much. Although I'll admit MGSV was pretty graphic, it didn't do much more than make me think "well that's pretty blimin' dreadful isn't it?"

I'm pretty doubtful we'll ever see a PS5 or PS6. But here's to hoping "The Last of Us 3 Remastered Remake Ultimate Supreme Definitive Ultra-Mega-HD Edition" scares the crap outta me in ways the first almost did… but only because I was afraid of actually having to use the shooting mechanics. (I'm not kidding)

I don't get what problem does IG have with putting old characters in their new games… And I don't think it's because of TJ - look how many familiar faces can be seen in the comic books.
I guess so they don't have to redesign and animate an older generation model, after all the Thug leader was another mysterously absent character (unless he died after that boss).
