Thread: Pretty Random Movie Thread

A tiny chin-beard. Like what Klunk had in secret Agent Clank.

As for my thoughts on Drek… I have none.

Games on PS4 look rediciously amazing. It's near impossible to play the Order 1886 and not think you're in the middle of a pre-rendered cutscene. I wouldn't be surprised if the PS4 game looks like the movie.

That's because 2/3rds of the screen have nothing in them and the game runs at 24FPS.
If IG is willing to go that far just so R&C PS4 looks like the movie then I won't be buying any other games from them.

Ok. Well if The Order doesn't do it for ya. How about:

Last of Us Remastered
Killzone: SH
First Light
Tomb Raider: DE

And last but not least:
Knack

I've played all of those and they look incredible. Don't underestimate this new R&C. emoji

Killzone: SH

SH? Isn't it SF? (Shadow Fall)

Killzone and inFamous look great, but do they play great? From what I've heard, they sacrificed good gameplay for graphics (inFamous is short and unfulfilling, while KZ is just straight up "lacking" in it's campaign) - Apparently.

The only games that I think are really showcasing something good, are The Last of Us (have no idea what Tomb Raider plays/looks like) and Metal Gear Solid V (maybe GTAV)… but these are games that already exist on PS3, and don't look too shabby on that system either!

Because of this, I'm going to say that PS3 to PS4 is not going to be quite as impressive as PS1 to PS2, or even PS2 to PS3 (no cases even remotely similar to GTAV, TLoU or MGSV)… but despite all of this, I'm confident that R&C PS4 will not disappoint. I'm sure it will be great. Insomniac always explode on new systems! (except Xbox 360)

I think PS3 to PS4 would be the final advance of gaming systems in terms of graphics. Because there's no way you can create a game which graphics are like what we always see through our eyes in real life

You just haven't seen what I've seen emoji

Trust me, there is still a way to go with "graphics". As it was stated before by Darkstar, the PS4 can't easily push out 1080p at 60fps. It really does struggle. And that's not all there are to graphics. We could do with more photo-realistic textures, lighting, higher polygon count, smoother/more realistic animations, greater environment detail/depth, larger worlds, more gameplay mechanics (that don't get ditched immediately after introducing them) Call of Duty …okay so I strayed a bit from graphics at "larger worlds", but you get the idea. The only problem is that these things all take massive teams of people to achieve them, and with this we can expect fewer AAA games to be produced, and therefore larger gaps between releases. "Fortunately" Sony figured out a way to fill these gaps: Indies.

SF indeed. I'm not sure what my mind was doing when I timed SH…

I enjoy playing Killzone 4. It looks great, plays great. You can't sacrifise gameplay for graphics. Although inFamous and Killzone were both made to showcase what the PS4 can do, keep that in mind. I let Knack be the judge. Great gameplay, smooth graphics, beautiful level design, awesome character design, pro voice acting. It was like playing a movie. I'm confident that Ratchet will surpass Knack.

The movie gives an idea of what the PS4 game will look like. It's gonna be pretty close if Insomniac is really going to use all the power within the PS4. And c'mone guys. We're talking IG here. Remember Tools of Destruction? Remember A Crack in Time? And for the heck of it: Remember Into the Nexus? m i the only one here without trust issues?

R&C will be released on PS4, but I think I will only buy the PS4 if IG decided to release lots of new R&C games and Namco also decided to release new Ace Combat games.

I guess you'll never know. But so far I think the PS3 will hold up pretty well. It's a timeless console, I will probably have it plugged in all the time. Can't say that about every console I own…

I think Ratchet and Clank is usually what unlocks a new console's potential when it comes to graphics.
I mean, before ToD the best looking game on PS3 was Uncharted, which isn't exactly what I would call good-looking for PS3 standards, same with the first Jak and Ratchet games.
EDIT: Turns out Uncharted came out later… but it was in development before ToD was announced, so that's the point.

So you got a little more faith now?

So you got a little more faith now?

I was an a–hole yesterday, sorry about that.

I'm sure the video game gods will forgive you.

I hate the fact that this website is most active when I'm sleeping (my city's timezone is GMT+7)

You can talk to Ratchetruler, he's pretty active when it's late at night here.
