So in the trailer, a planet was shown for a split second and it caused speculation. Was it Veldin, Aridia or something new? I think it could be Aridia because Clank is on Ratchet's back, so it's unlikely to be Veldin. But it could be Veldin because a ship is firing lasers at Ratchet and he is running between cover like the strafing tutorial in Ratchet and Clank 3. The environment could be either planet or something completely new. What are your opinions? (Sorry I couldn't get an image, but you can find it in the trailer)

How is it unlikely to be Veldin? It has so much in common with Veldin I don't see how it could not be Veldin.
@Smega it's near the end with the montage of Ratchet running through planets.

Old theory:
I know exactly what are you talking about, but I was more interested in the ship itself. It has design roughly comparable to the Blarg dropships from the original game. Those, despite dropping the elite Blargs also started shooting at you - on Veldin. But I don't suppose it actually is Veldin, seeing the foliage in the footage and lack thereof on Veldin.
I'm thinking about planets in the original game that took place at night though, and it probably is Aridia. The ships also looks crazy large, and if it appears at the beginning of the game, then it'd be foolish to try and take it down with your arsenal, and rather outrun it while avoiding it's fire (which is probably the point of that passage). We also know that enemies will reappear even in places never seen before, as evidenced with the Blarg Fighter on Novalis.
My other guess was Orxon due to it's abundance of Blarg survivors. But we don't really visit the place at night (apparenly, granted there's sunlight coming through the green smog) and the depicted location is missing the toxicity that Orxon emanates.
Maybe just like we presume Hoven and Batalia will be forged together, the same will happen to Aridia and Orxon.
EDIT: Hold on, I'll take a closer look at it.
Results:
It probably is Veldin indeed - I was wrong about the foliage, there is very little of it. In the background you can see silhouettes of some leaves as well as building that brings up some memories of Veldin.
Also, while it may've been intentional for the sake of the montage, Ratchet isn't wearing any armor.
(That's a weak argument)
Clank may've been located on Veldin and the ship was sent in for clean up? Maybe. It still looks like a part where you are just supposed to avoid it's fire.
LOOK AT THAT SHIP. IT'S HUGE AND SCARY. IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS EYES.

I also am almost certainly sure it is Veldin - Clank's presence on Ratchet's back doesn't mean anything. How do we know they will leave the planet as quickly as they did in the first game? In fact, we know they won't! Did you forget that picture already:

I think it's definitely Veldin. Compare it to this one:
Same kind of terrain with rounded rocks and occasional vegetation.
~~EXAMS~~
I'm pretty sure it's Veldin, but as you should know you
visit Veldin twice in the first game. It might also be when the Blargs are on Veldin, and this is a Blarg dropship attacking you, just like in the original second visit of Veldin

I think you're right and I believe it's Veldin too. this ship looks pretty similar to the old, just look at the form.
Wearing armor has nothing to do with it. It's interesting to note that the dropship was featured in the Gaspar gameplay too
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Well actually, from what we have seen, Ratchet gets awarded the galactic ranger armour in Aleero city. So, he should keep it by the end of the game.
Maybe it's interchangable like in ITN.
