Thread: Sly Cooper Thread

True. 3D movies are the new black of this era. Since MoCap people lean more to 3D movies than 2D.

The point is, by using a technique like this, they could easily make a high-quality Sly film that's in the original art style, and like they said, they're not making it 3D because it's "easier" they're making it 3D because it's apparently more popular…

And, as I said, it saves money and also gives them since more people will go to see it. Doesn't change my point that it's just about money.

2D movies just don't fit this era anymore. Sanzaru made that animated short film. Even with more frames like old Disney movies, the movie doesn't have the cute factor like it has now.

To get non-gamers to see this movie they need that cute factor with fuzzy animals. Bentleys eyes are probably visible to make him more likeable. People look at eyes first, when you can't see them.. there is no trust in them.

The choices they've made are probably all marketing. When I have to create a 'game design document' at school, we always looks at estimated ages that will be playing the game and see what fits the best. Recently we started working on a game that can teach you a new language through playing. We chose a Knack/Pixar kind of style because it is timeless. People love it and its totally now.

Platformers don't fit this era aswell, but they still make them.

On mobile phones mostly because they are easy to play on the go.

Let me rephrase: But they still make GOOD platformers.

The more I look at these designs the more I realize, they actually capture first Sly's dark feeling. Sly 1 was really dark after all. I will sure miss poofs, whams and Le Police, but I think I'll be able to get used to this artstyle. Even though Sly looks more like Teneese emoji Speaking of him - it's confirmed. Kevin Miller wasn't even asked to reprise his role. Celebrities win again…

Idd, I read it. Utter stupid choice. Miller probably had his mouth full of teeth.. or whatever the correct translation is.

"As of right now the makers of the Sly Cooper Movie are exploring other options for the role of Sly. I don't know much more than that but THEY do and are very active on twitter. So ask them: @slycoopermovie.

Thanks for all your support! We'll talk about it more on our upcoming Gamerland Podcast."

So… They're testing different voices for Sly because… They didn't like it? I mean sure, Lara Croft has NEVER had the Same voice actor, but she is human and oud voices change. But Sly is a furry game character, hè didn't need the change.

I definitely agree. It would make my day if they would just choose Kevin for the role. They already have the same voice actors for Bentley and Murray. I really don't see what "exploring" they would have to do to find the guy for the role. Kevin is wide open. It just does not make much sense at all right now.

You don't get a point of this - they're not looking for better Sly voice, they're looking for a more famous Sly voice, a surname that would attract the audience. It's quality isn't most important for them - if it was, they would just hire Kevin.

So basically: everything we know about the film so far is that it's a grotesque Hollywood-isation of a perfectly good franchise… How can this possibly go wrong(?)

Clockwerk becoming a Putin parody :P But to be honest, I think it will still be better than TiT in terms of plot and humour…
