Thread: Does playing Ratchet & Clank make you a baby???

When I play a game loaded with gore and blood (like Resistance 2 and 3) I don't mind. It doesn't make me think "oh god, there's gore, I'm switching off, it's too much for me" or say "oh YES! BLOOD! A feature that is in every good game these days, without all this blood, I would have quit by now!" no I'm sorta in between. I think it's alright, makes the game a little less dull.

Then there are games like Killzone, where there is not much gore, but while you're loading the bad guys full of bullets (they have some hearty armour or something) it feels so right that they completely overdo the blood splash effects! Without the effects the game would be very dull indeed.

Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter however are two game series that I think do not need blood, and would feel wrong with blood.

So really it depends on the game. If it's a realistic shooter game there will need to be at least some blood, it does make it a bit more interesting, though it doesn't exactly make me sit right up close to the screen with my mouth wide open in aw of the site of the stuff. It just feels right. But some can feel just right without, like Uncharted.

I think CoD is for babies. Only little boys play it. Anybody can pick it up and play. Hailz.. that game is boring -.-

I'm 16 and I SUCK at CoD. Probably one of the main reasons why i'm not a fan. The creators aimed for it to be aimed at older audiences, but attracted little kids because it was considered cool to them. But some older people are put off my it, so it was supposed to be aimed at a more mature audience, and did the opposite XD. I don't like it for a few reasons; it's too difficult (multiplayer-wise) and it's story is rubbish. It's like they don't want you do get it, or care for that matter. All they care about is the multiplayer, and I am not a fan of competitive multiplayer games, so games like Killzone and Resistance appeal to me because they have awesome weapons, stories, characters and settings. NOT because of the multiplayer (though Resistance 2's coop and Resistance 3's versus are pretty fun)

It's really a matter of opinion, CoD is aimed for older people, but attracts babies, therefore if you go online you hear a lot of high pitched whining XD

I don't think playing RC would make anyone a baby, probably would make someone feel like that but if they can get over it, and give it a good shot, that would maybe change their mind. Also some of the jokes are very obviously meant for elder players.

Well, I'm glad that when I was young we just didn't play all that repetitive CoD action like it seems to be nowdays. Not saying CoD would be really bad game or anything. I think it's fun to play thru like once and then those zombie levels split screen are damn fun. But it like doesn't make me really want to come back to play it years later, unlike RC.

I dislike CoD for a couple reasons too.

1. You die too fast. You finally find someone and you both die.
2. There are no cool hidng places. Everybody can find you.
3. There is no radar, so its always hide and seek.
4. Its in First Person, which makes me feel trapped.
5. The game is mostly focussed on online, while I rather play sinlge.
6. Its very boring, it always repeats. You search, you die, you maybe kill some one and search further and so on.

All I can say is that its boring and for noobs. It takes no skill.

I'd have to agree with your position, HeatherGrace. Never played the games, but my brother was addicted for some time, and I can confidently say that even Halo is more interactive than just killing things; it actually has more of a story, for one,

Yeah, I'd like to try Halo sometime. Its just that I'm more like a PlayStation person, the Xbox doesn't have anyting special to offer me…

If I'm not completely mistaken, you can get Halos to PC. Don't know how good computer you have but I suppose atleast the first two games don't reguire so high performance to be played.

rolfxd is right; Halo 1 was even released for the Mac. Which, sadly, is what the series was meant for before Microsoft bought Bungie.

I think you can get the first 2 Halo games on PC, cos I've been looking into it.
Played Halo 3, I think, at my mates and it was good fun, but not worth buying an Xbox for in my opinion. Plus the Xbox controller is weirdly laid out. emoji

And they say our controllers are laid out weird. Really, they go on and on about how it's "nicer" when your thumb is way up there, pointing out how the most used things are the four buttons on the right and the left stick. They add that the only reason PS3 controllers are what they are is because the old PS1 controllers were laid out so you had easy access the the important D-pad and symbol buttons, but the analogue sticks were added as an extra feature which stuck. Obviously others pt the stick up there with this in mind, trying to make it "easier" for the thumbs. Honestly I like the PS3 controller more, the sticks don't feed added to the bottom, they feel right because your thumbs can just rest on them, and when you need to make a command (mostly what the D-pad tends to be used for in games (that I play) like ACiT and A4O) and same for the right side. However it isn't too difficult because the sticks are more central and dont get in the way of the buttons, so really if an Xbox player used the PS3 controller for more than 10 minutes he'd probably like it just as much.

I'm tired and bored, I went into that because I could and I have nothing better to do.

A kids game? They way too much Call of Duty emoji

I'm 15 and started playing when I was 7. I have a friend who says he's starting to grow out of gaming because he thinks it's for kids. (even though he mainly played 18+ games) Gaming is just another type of entertainment, as is TV, books, film, music, sport, theatre and trolling. It has something for everyone.

Also, anything with titles such as going commando, up your arsenal and size matters is not for kids.

And just because it's not gory, doesn't make it babyish. Some cartoons are very gory (have you seen the last episode of Futurama? "He sure has a lot of blood for a skinny guy"emoji

You forgot about Deadlocked. I don't think gladiator stuff is suitable for children
