The animation is awesome, what are you talking about?
What is not awesome is this:
Murray looks too real and so does Bentley, I Preferred the more cartoony design, like in the games.
Also WTF did they do to sly, y is he wearing pants?! He never wears pants!
I just think that it is strange that they announce a Ratchet & Clank movie. I looks great.
Then they announce a Sly movie (so their animation team is split in 2) and have run out of animators for Ratchet & Clank. Which personally I much prefer to Sly.
Of course it's entirely possible they started both at the same time, or that a member of their R&C animating team had to leave. Either way I still want to feel unhappy about something right now, because I am too happy with my new game: Fuse!

I don't think they started both at the same time, but decided they'll make them at the same time (*sigh* Film Financial Services *sigh* leak *sigh* Jak and Daxter) Don't forget Rainmaker is still doing all those Barbie movies, so Sly team had to work on other projects when Ratchet team became their work. Also, you said something about an 'important movie' - bigger fanbase does not mean a better movie, gamers will make a very few of the people who'll watch these movies, and to be honest, I think Sly could have better, or at least more original movie than Ratchet. If they won't go with these pathetic food jokes that is.

Looks pretty cool, Ratchet's facial expression is a little odd though. Also curious that Clank isn't in it, unless there's gonna be a partnering promo poster featuring him.

Well, it's detailed, except for his left hand… it just looks too big, considering it's further away.
Considering this is probably a render, thats not quite possible.
It looks more like a computer drawing that a rendered model to me…

So, Cannes is getting movie's 20 min preview in May. Hope we get a trailer as well. Also, Clank is not gone:
It's clearly not a CGI… I also see in terms of design they were basing mostly on the latest games - that A4O suit and new Omni-Wrench.
A lot of times 2D artists pose the 3D model and simply trace it in Photoshop or similar.
