Thread: What Video Game Are You Currently Playing?

Yeah. There's 3 schools in Holland (that I know of) where you can study game artist of game developer. So far I've had subjects like 3D, 2D, development and drawing (with a pencil and paper. Remember those?) To be more specific it would be Maya, Mudbox, Photoshop, UV-Layout and a few small help programs for textures and etc. I'm in my 2nd year now and now can make use of a motion capture studio! Next year I'll have to work somewhere as an intern. I'll get my resime to Guerilla (Killzone), but I won't accepted anyway. Can always thry though, weirder things have happenedemoji

The change they made for Ratchet was great. Its the main reason why it wasn't my favorite franchise until the PS3. Personality is all for me, I can put a game away very quickly if I don't like the characters.

Wow, you are so lucky to actually have an option of how you're going to go into game development! We have just 1 Media Design Tertiary University and no 'game schools' so I'm going to have to take what I can get.

I can't as easily put away games which have bad characters (like take Killzone for example has the other more negative side of the spectrum when to comes down to characters) because I don't have many games and much money, so if I get a game I find something great about it and like it for that. (Killzone had a surprisingly great story!) But I will always have my favorite games, and all of them have really great characters.

But there are cases that I like the character and story, but the gameplay just ruins it all. Thats Heavenly Sword to me.

Yea, I can see what you mean. But I refuse to play those sorts of games. The No.1 thing in a game is gameplay, it always has and always will be a big deal in the industry, which should get top priority. That's how Ratchet & Clank have been made, with the gameplay and level designs coming first and the story wraping around that.

Correct. But I've been introduced to many different gameplay and envolved a lot over time. I got used to the different gameplays because I really wanted to continue and see how the story ends. For example, I gave Final Fantasy XIII a fair chance this year. I didn't RPG's let alone JRPG's. I didn't like the battle style and grinding etc. either. But because I went through the routine a lot because the story and characters were so great. I found out that the gameplay, too, was amazing.

But Heavenly Sword is a good game. But I'm not into hack 'n slashers. But the story was interresing enough for me to watch all of the cutscenes on YouTube. emoji

So, I picked up my last 'ration' PS3 game. Prince of Persia that I payed a full €5 for. The game plays very nicely so far. Though it will take some time to get used too. I was also greeted by a very nice surpice. Nolan North is the voice of the Prince. Aka Nathan Drake xD
