Okay, then a more recent example:
Bayonetta was a multiplatform game that's now exclusive on Wii U.

Otherwise it wouldn't have been made. Nintendo paid so the game would be made. They didn't just buy exclusivity like M$ is doing.

Same thing with a game we were discussing earlier: Sunset Overdrive.

While Nintendo actually had interest in Bayonetta. I'm pretty sure M$ was just looking for anaother exclusive to snatch. I'm also pretty sure SO would have been made no matter what.

So, when Nintendo does it it's ok, fine, necesarry and all, but when Microsoft does it it's bad, bucause it's M$? I understand your flustration over Tomb Raider, but don't treat Microsoft as the gaming industry devil now, they're not much different from other companies.

M$ has a different reason. They pay to make sure certain games don't get to be on the PS4. Nintendo paid to make sure a game was made. I don't know exactly how SO works, but since they use the exact same ''…this would be the next best thing'' ''Our friends at Microsoft'' ''This will boost our brand'' bulls*** I feel something else is going on.

If they really wanted to make sure a game didn't end up on PS4 don't you think they would try approaching a more successful studio?
Don't get me wrong, I love IG, but I never go into their games with the mentality that they'll be the next TLoU.

But MS turned out to be the place that allowed IG to make the game the way they wanted (unlike EA with Overstrike/Fuse). And they allowed them to keep the rights to it!

Because Insomniac was probably the only thing they could get. IG is one of the few independent companies the developed exclusively on 1 platform. Any game that is on Xbox One and not PS4 makes them feel like they're da boss.

I guess I see it. M$ allowing IG to make the game they want. Hmm, curious how SCE would suddenly abandon a trusted company like Insomniac because IG had a different vision.
But this isn't about Sunset Overdrive. This disscussion is about M$ paying for (console) exclusivity over 3rd party games. Dead Rising, Ryse, Rise of the Tomb Raider. And not just that, but the way they handle it. Making it seem like they're actual exclusives. And when the media is on their asses they aknowledge it's a timed exclusive. Then dripping the news they're now publishing it. But of course putting the words 'for Xbox' behind it so you don't know whether Square can still publish it for other platforms.

I see people are growing tired of this.

Alright, can we now discuss about something more "peaceful"?

Yeah, red vision is gone… for now.
But the new Tomb Raider movie seems to get a little closer, which is nice.

If only this was for Crash Bandicoot or Jak and Daxter…
