Wait.. this can't be right. I think this is actually a demo, isn't the full game on 4 discs?

2 actually.

How does one acquire an un-common demo disc and lose the 2 originals? I bought this at a fleamarket, but never noticed it wasn't the actual game. Bummer…

At least I can play this demo and see if I like it enough to buy a CIB copy.

It looks exactly like the original, it's just missing "Disc 1 of 2" there.

Apparently the PAL discs are supposed to be white with the original art of Snake of them. And a 'Silent Hill' demo should come with it.

Weird, but a demo will do just fine for now.

If you like it, you could try and find the MGS Legacy Collection, it has every single MGS game in it and the Graphic Novels. Relatively cheap for what it is.

Oh, cool. I didn't know that existed! I can get one for €46, that is incredibly generous.

They all have their ups and downs. I found that MGS2 was the most difficult to play, but if you've gone through MGS1 beforehand it should be a breeze. That is assuming you don't get completely tired of the first one (which is technically the third)

On a different note: If anyone wants a quick recap of how E3 went, this video should about cover it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbrWW08msFg&list=UUsvn_Po0SmunchJYOWpOxMg

A friend of mine said that she thought this 'Legacy Edition' is going to release on PS4 too?

We have heard nothing like that. And to be honest I couldn't imagine it happening. PS4 does not support PS3 games and PS2 remasters (I don't know about PS1). So they would all have to be re-remastered, which I don't think they would want to do with PS Now coming along.

Ah, ok. Well, I just read that my local retailer has one day of glorious 30% off all used games. They sell a used copy of MGS: L which makes it €20. If I can, I'm gonna get it in advance.

I think MGS2 has the best gameplay and story, but it's presentation is horrible.

Yea, I wasn't much of a fan of the big shell. The map had very little variety. In all the other games the progression just seemed to flow a lot nicer… for me at least.

MGS2 was the first I played. When I was at the part where 'Metal Gear' was presented and you had to sneak by the presentation they were giving in the dark (it's a long time ago, I'm probably not accurate.) A friend was sitting next to me and said: ''This is not your game, is it?''.

So here we go; it's not the game, it's me. I play fast pased games most of the time where you're always moving forward. When I played MGS3 I figured I wasn't patient enough. I love the stealth parts in Sly Cooper and Tomb Raider '13. But Metal Gear is a bit… too stealth based for me. *sad

Thats okay. I too love me some fas paced action. Infact I often got frustrated and annoyed at the stealth in games like Uncharted and Killzone! Infact sometimes I still do.

I knew that coming into Metal Gear Solid would be hard for me. I mean Resistance: Fall of Man was a huge challenge as my first FPS, LBP was a huge challenge as my first side-scolling platformer, and Uncharted was a huge challenge as my fist cover-based shooter. Luckily at the time I got MGS I was so bored and ready for a new game, I didn't care if it was bad or not. So I had time to get really settled with the new genre.

To ne honest, I too can find the pace slow an difficult to jump into quite often nowadays. Especially with fast paced games like Metal Gear Rising, Fuse and Rayman. But I know that when the time comes for MGSV, I will be ready.
