I like how they didn't redesign him too much like they did with some other PS2 characters…
He probably won't play a big role in the story, though. Wouldn't be surprised if he just gave you the Jetpack.
It'd be cool if Al had his own shop for weapon modifications and stuff like that, but I guess there's already the Raritanium mods…
And I'm really not a fan of the Galactic Ranger armour, which seems to be the default outfit for most of the game… 
It's a shame because the Pilot Suit is probably one of the best Ratchet outfits to date in my opinion, if not THE best.
