Thread: E3 2015 Chat Thread

So, tomorrow is the day Ratchet and Clank premire at E3. Any hopes for new stuff? Do you think everything will be the same? What do you suppose the ew planet they will show off is?

I think they might show some other gameplay or otherwise a quick summary with no film.

I watched the Bethesda presentation earlier on Twitch. I have never gotten into any Bethesda games before. The closest I've come is playing Skyrim and Fallout 3 for just a few hours each. I do have plans to get more into them, and perhaps someday get into Fallout 4, but probably not Elder Scrolls Online.

The presentation was pretty good though. I usually find the crappy jokes and (hopefully) forced personalities funny. The main guy presenting everything was doing all that silly stuff. But the Fallout presenter actually seemed pretty legit. Most of the stuff he said actually made sense.

I think I'm going to have to try and have an incredibly early bed time to be up for the Microsoft conference. I know I don't want to miss it, but I am sure I will anyway. This is a shame because I would like to see it live for all of whatever they will be showing. And Metal Gear Solid V.

I'll have to re-watch everything afterwards, because if I'm watching Twitch.tv I have to chose between alright quality with heaps of skipping and really crappy quality that is mostly clear. I will have to go with the crappy one. But that's just streaming for ya!

My wishlist for E3 in order of most awesome to least awesome is:

  • #1 Metal Gear Rising 2 for PS4
  • #2 New inFamous reveal for PS4/Vita
  • #3 Jak 4 reveal for PS4/Vita
  • #4 Assassin's Creed: Blag Flag sequel
  • #5 MediEvil 3 reveal for PS4/Vita
  • #6 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Stories reveal exclusive to PS Vita
  • #7 Portal 3 reveal for PS4/Vita
  • #8 New Killzone reveal for PS4/Vita
  • #9 Jak and Daxter remake for PS4
  • #10 Ratchet & Clank Future Collection for PS Vita
  • #11 MediEvil 1/2 remake for PS4/Vita
  • #12 Ratchet & Clank (PS4) gameplay/trailer
  • #13 Assassin's Creed: Blag Flag reveal for PS Vita
  • #14 Portal 1/2 reveal for PS Vita
  • #15 Uncharted Trilogy reveal for PS Vita
  • #16 Uncharted 4 trailer/gameplay

Sadly I am sure only 2 of these things are possible: The R&CPS4 gameplay and the Uncharted 4 gameplay and/or trailer.

I saw the new Dishonored trailer. That one is on my watch list. Any game with a strong female lead enters my watchlist by default. emoji

It really doesn't sound that hard to sell a game to you. All we need is a female protagonist voiced by you know who.

EDIT: Pre-rendered trailers are always cool to watch, but they are useless for any information about the game.

Jennifer Hale, Ali Hillis or Jo Wyatt voicing a lead and I'm done. Instabuy!
But hey, it got me Mass Effect, Final Fantasy XIII, Knack and many other games I love dearly. emoji

But if they use the same voice actors as the last game they will need to do a bit more to have me convinced.

Edit

Finaly, the Falco Amiibo is coming!

Ratchetruler you had me there with Jak and Portal… until I read it's just your wishlist emoji
What if Half Life 3 gets confirmes?

Then the internet explodes? Though Valve has this new engine thing going on. Apperently there will by Half Life 3, Fortress 3 or Left for Death 3.

Hype!

I also found a Dutch website that claims SE is working on a FFVII remake. Not remaster, remake.

It's not a random CB mention, right? Right?

Heck yeah, it has begun. Watching Xbox' pre-E3 on IGN right now. I'm ready for some Tomb Raidah!!!

Well I seem to have managed to get up early enough for Microsoft. Too bad my computer hasn't. It's installing plenty of updates and messing around with broken drives. It has chosen a great time to do so, and now I will miss Microsoft's intro for sure.

I cried. I actually cried. This is it! This is going to be like TR9 all over again. I couldn't put TR9 away, it's one of the few long games I beat in 2 days because I never stopped playing. There were no moments where I felt ''okay, I can go eat something now''. This small bit of gameplay they showed has all the excitement I'd hoped to be in Rise. This is going to be my dream sequel and it certainly has a chance of kicking TR9 of it's throne!

Although. I'm very unhappy with the news that XBone will be backwards compatible. Why? Because I've been waiting and waiting for Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered. Sony might jump in on the backwards compatibilty too. Meaning that remaster will probably not going to be developed anymore. Which sounds like bad news to me.

Don't worry, Sony will not be doing that. I mean with PS Now, all their HD Collections and the PS3's complex architecture, they may struggle to do so more than Xbox One.

I was pretty impressed by the show, and look forward to Sony's one. have had very little exposure to Tomb Raider before, but that demo looked like about the worst part of the game they could show off. There was no room for deviation on the player's part. It seemed like the player was just directing the player forwards all the time with to occasional pressing of the X button and a few cutscenes to break it all up. If they show off linear sequences like this it gives off the impression that the game has very little replay value. And I always like a good bit of length to my games, like Ratchet & Clank's challenge modes, Metal Gears alternative approaches, and AC: Black Flag's massive amount of interesting side activities.

I really hope Sony can tick off at least 5 things from my list of expectations.

EDIT: Oh and by some miracle I was able to watch the show on IGN in HD with very few interruptions. Looks like either Twitch is unreliable, or being up at 4:30 in the morning (when most others are sleeping) isn't such a bad thing.

I watched Twitch on 420p. I didn't bother watching HD, my laptop would go (x.x) anyway. emoji

This TR gameplay had a lot of cinematics, yeah. But it's probably a healthy mix like TR9 had, I fairly certain it's gonna be great. Worth the extra money I need to lay down for a 360.
