When activated, the Drone Device releases six hovering bots that protects the user from incoming attacks or enemies. Once equipped, these bots will circle around Ratchet and take any damage from enemies he would have otherwise sustained. Other weapons and gadgets can be equipped while the bots are there, but they will disappear if Ratchet enters his ship or leaves the planet. If he gets close to an enemy, one drone will home into the enemy and self-destruct, killing the enemy.
